Ken Hughes -Merchant Credit Guide Numerous calls since June 2006 to date, stating "it is very important that you call Ken Hughes at 888-249-4134 Chicago Illinois

I have received numerous calls from Ken Hughes since June of 2006. Since we did not recognize the name and he left no company name we figured it was a solicitor. Just this evening we had yet another message, so my wife being tired of the message returned the call.

She actually got a person almost immediately and proceeded to state we had recevied numerous calls from them, who were they and why calling. She said the man did not state a name or give a company, ask for our phone number, which since they had been calling what difference would it make.

Once giving our phone number he ask if she was Chris Adams and she stated no, what do you want from him, the man become rude and said if she was not Chris Adams had no reason to be speaking with him. She told him to stop calling and if could not say what he was calling for or what he wanted. She ask how he came about our phone number (it is suppose to be unlisted) and he said Chris gave it to him. Well if Chris gave it to them, Chris would know who Ken Hughes is and what he wanted.

The call became a yelling match and my wife passed the phone to me. This person ask if I was Chris Adams to which I replied yes. I asked several times who he was and with what company, to which he would never indicate. I asked what he wanted and he finally said "this is a collection agency and that he could not give the complete ss# over the phone, but could I verify if the last 4 digits of the ss were mine". Of course, I said no, but the scary thing is, it was the last four of my ss#. Once I told this person that was not my #, he said they would remove the phone # and info from their computer.

My credit has been excellent and now I'm worried these people have my social and will damage my credit, or worse identity theft. What if anything should I do. My wife Googled the phone number and found this website and all the complaints against Ken Hughes and now we know as Merchant Credit Guide. This is incredible.
