Kennedy Transporation - Aberstar Fast Freight - Aberstar Transportation Group scam, deceit, lies, bankruptcy Mississauga Ontario Canada

I am also an owner operator that dealt with Kennedy Transportation. Be advised that Kennedy Transportation may be owned by Aberstar Fast Freight and also goes by the name Aberstar Transportation Group but I have not been able to prove that.

I will confirm what others have said. If you deal with Kennedy, you will go broke. It is almost physically impossible to earn the numbers they have stated. The numbers they state in the ads ($3000-$5000/wk) are GROSS numbers (meaning before expenses). Unfortunately, I wish I read these reports before getting involved. I now have a $100,000 truck that does not make any money (I would be making more money working a security guard job at $10/hr with NO financial risk).

Kennedy lied about not disclosing two key figures when going over all the truck expenses you will incur while working. Obviously you have your lease, insurance, fuel, maintenance, tolls, other misc items. And using that they come up with about 30-40% in expenses leaving you with around $7000/mo take-home. They DO NOT tell you about the 30% comission that the trucking company you work for takes (until you are signing the work agreement at the trucking company) (it is an industry standard commission but they still dont tell you that) and also because you own your own business, you are looking at about 20-25% in income taxes as well.

So the 30-40% becomes 80-90% EXPENSES!!! Plus you are looking at cash needed to pay tolls ($300-600/mo), food while away and any misc expenses needed for your "business", pens, paper, faxes at truck stops! The list goes on and on!! Cell phones as well, expect to pay around $200/mo for JUST work calls NO PERSONAL CALLS! Plus WSIB coverage is based off of gross sales which average around $15,000/mo. WSIB coverage for me only was $750/mo. My take home after everything is paid out is a couple hundred a month if I am lucky.

I looked into Fedex CC division. The money you make there would be LESS than at Aberstar and you would be gone 3 weeks at a time!

I am lucky if i turn a profit at all in a month, some months I lose money, i can barely afford to put food on the table, and cannot even pay rent for a bachelor apartment in hamilton!

If you get this truck you WILL LOSE MONEY!!

Kennedy has obviously lied to everyone who walked in their doors. Everything in this report is 100% TRUE (except for the first paragraph where i stated i am not 100% sure of the affiliation). Obviously if Kennedy was to tell everyone "hey, buy this $100,000 truck and after all your expenses you will make $500/mo" noone would buy them. They lie and I can prove it! Bring on the lawyers!

Also, another technicality is that even in order to make $500/mo, you > maybe be forced to run the truck outside of current legal regulations. And if you get involved in an accident, your insurance WILL NOT cover you and all i can say is if you thought you were broke before, just wait until that happens.

I know another owner with Aberstar, that got in an accident and is now in an unbelievable amount of debt and still barely making any money.

To the leasing company that is filing the class action suit, have the lawyers get in touch with this site and they can forward details of the case to all who respond. I am willing to participate and have audio tapes that may help with prosecution.

Final word, do what I didn't and avoid this company like the plague, don't touch it with a hundred foot pole. All the other reports here seem true including the report by Michelle above which seems she was forced to retract her statement under legal pressure. That just goes to show you what they will do to try and silence the truth.
