He then told me that everyone that he talks to tells him that and they are usually wrong. What nerve! He then wanted to run my credit before I even drove any car. What kind of dealer is that? I was so mad. After telling him that I wanted to speak to a manager he finally wanted to show me a car at last. I never told him that I already knew the price of the specific vette I was there for and we took it for a test drive and he show me the features of the car.
Next we go inside where he insist they run my credit before we even talk Price. I ask him how much the car was and he said he didn't know that he had to go check with a manager. He then walked away over to a manager and didn't know that I could overhear him speaking to him. And that's when I heard it! He told the manager "I want to crush this guy on this car" I was infuriated at that but didn't let him on that I heard it. So he comes back and sits across from me and tells me the car is $44,900.
Now this is the same car that I came in for from the News Paper ad that was listed at $38,900. I told him that was out of my price range and then asked hm why the price went up since I left Philly? He ask what I met and that's when I let him know that I seen the car advertised for $38,900 in the paper. He said that was a different car. What's this guy think I'm an idiot! The same Vin # is right in the ad that match the car he just showed me. I showed him the ad out of my car with the matching Vin and he didn't know what to say then. He then walked away to get the same manager that he told he wanted to crush me and brought him over.
His name was Joe and he had the nerve to tell me that he could sell me the car for that price if my credit was good enough. I ask him what the difference was for good and bad credit when it comes to an advertised price and he was stumped. I then told them that I really didn't want to be crushed today since I planned on buying a newer vette and not from them. I have never in my life been so insulted by a dealer or any salesmen anywhere. They tried to stop me from leaving the store as I was walking out and I wouldn't listen to anything they had to say, but I did hear the manager call me a f***ing asshole as the door closed.
If your looking for a car I would stay away from all of the Kerbeck stores they are all the same.
On a good note, they lost a sale and another dealer got one the same day when I purchased my new vette in Vineland NJ.
