It started out well. We edited, they edited, back and forth. Then we did not hear from them for a long time. The editor did not respond to repeated emails. There was no phone number for customer service. Our daughter turned twelve, and still the project was in limbo. Finally the editor got in touch with us and gave us a choice of cover graphics. We thought we were close to publishing, then they just went AWOL again, with no response to emails.
It was incredibly frustrating for us and our daughter, and the extended family who had been so excited at the thought of seeing her in print.
I finally sent an email to the main editor expressing my frustration. We had paid to have this book published OVER A YEAR AGO! I told him I would post on Ripoff reports if i did not get an answer. I received an email THAT DAY in which he promised a refund, and to publish our book for no charge. Sounds good, right? Well, that was TWO MONTHS AGO and I have no check and no further email from him.
