Had the semi-annual photos taken at Motophoto in West Chester, PA. This is a legitimate business and we even saw OTHER kids.com kids there for appointments while were there. While visiting Motophoto, we even entered some of their contests. We won a local contest with one of the shots. Nice bonus!!! We like Motophoto very much.
Everything seemed on the up-and-up. We were even called by kids.com and told to report to NYC for American Baby try-out on August 17, 2006. We did get help from kids.com for that opportunity. They answered our questions and gave us specific instructions on what would happen.
Our semi-annual reminder was due August 2007. Didn't think much of it...things were busy...actually one less appointment to keep, etc. etc.
Well, we finally started thinking that things didn't seem 'usual'. We, usually, promptly received our semi-annual reminders for the photos...and the photos appeared online promptly. I downloaded and printed each photo for our records.
We had no reason to suspect foul-play.
Tried calling kids.com about our semi-annual photo around December 4th...got no answer. Checked for website..that's gone, too?!?!
Called Motophoto, West Chester and they said they don't really know anything. They just heard rumor that the kids.com business is gone????
Asked Motophoto how much business they received from kids.com. They said 'maybe 20 clients a month' would come to Motophoto for their semi-annual.
I would think that's a good amount of business that Motophoto is losing out on, too!?!??
Ended up here from googling kids.com...a buncha fraud stuff came up affiliated with that name.
Wondering what our next step is???? We figured that we're still OWED $238.00.
The contract we sign states "kids.com will continue this service for a period of 5 years."Well, they quit providing their part of the service that we signed for, right!?!?!?
We received 6 out of 10 photos to be displayed online. They owe US for the add'l 4...which = the $238.00
So, do we get a buncha clients who's kids.com location was Cherry Hill, NJ and go after kids.com as a group or what???
Maybe if we all figure out what we're OWED that would help us see the damage? Figure it's $59.50 for each photo to be up on their website for 6 mos. at a time....for 10 times total (5 yrs.)
How much did you lose??
We feel fortunate that we had over half our semi-annuals displayed....what about people who recently joined?!?!
We just don't know where to go from here....
any suggestions are welcome.
I have pretty meticulous records. I have original contract, all the semi-annual photo reminders, mileage log with dates. Print outs of the photos displayed online. I might me a good resource for a lawyer or someone willing to help a group of us out!!!!
