Of all the people/businesses I've dealt with in my 50+ yrs these scumbags take the cake!!! (pun intended)

After getting a signed contract fr them w/ all the details arrranged/agreed on and giving them a deposit they have the nerve to call 2 months before the event to ask for more money, significantly more. We reminded them of the contract they had signed and we had put a deposit on; there was no acknowledgement of responsibility.

When we refused their blackmail tactics their last communication to us stated that they would not be able to provide any of the services contracted for on the date agreed apon. All this via EMail since they refused to talk to us in person.

There is not a rating low enough for these crooks!!! Do not, I repeat DO NOT have anything to do with Kim and Ashlee's Cakes & Cookies. Website: www.kimandashlee.com There is absolutely nothing honest or honourable about them.DO NOT EVER DEAL HERE!!!"

What a HOOT!!!

AUTHOR: Victim of Kim & Ashlee - ()

If the broadcasts weren't hilarious enough (Mr Gormley, these people were calling me names!); the "story behind the story" certainly was!     Did some digging: turns out that the "Honourable & Upright" Kim and Ashlee (AKA Sweet Ambrosia Bakeshoppe, Kim & Ashlees Frosted Edge, more?) have been "donating" cupcakes etc to both media outlets for some time.   Way to tell the (unbiased) truth guys!!!   FWIW, I also got some feedback fr one of the station employees, and I quote; "Their cupcakes SUCK!"    Good enough for me; I don't even have to sample the 'sucky' product.    WHAT A HOOT!!!

Cyber bullying

AUTHOR: Kim and Ashlee''s Cakes Cookies - (Canada)

Our business has recently been featured on Global TV and the John Gormley Talkshow regarding the pressing issue of cyber bullying, and in particular how it affects small businesses. The customer above has been directly linked to a "hate group" on Facebook and has been actively seeking the destruction of our small family business for the last six years. My three children and I work extremely hard to provide the best service and product we can, but as with all businesses we are not able to please everyone. I am frankly tired of defending my integrity as it pertains to this incident, and have provided links to the news broadcast and John Gormley podcast that discuss the details surrounding the "hate" Facebook group that the customer who filed this report belonged to.

I have dealt with these characters myself. They have ripped off and treated so many customers in Regina Saskatchewan poorly it's incredible they are still in business.  My experience was no different. Selling a cake that looks melted, off scale and sloppy is not acceptable.  To future clients, beware, if you have a problem with these people they will only communicate with you via emails.  You will not get any money back, nor will they be willing to work with you to make things right.  Before you decide to use them for your wedding cake or any other ceremony, go into the store and see how long it takes before they serve you, pay attention to how they treat you. I can guarantee they will be rude. Try at least a cupcake. They are not very good. Google all the complaints about them, or click on the links below. Join our group on facebook. Search "Boycott Kim and Ashlee's Cakes & Cookies!"  There you will read all the horror stories that this pathetic Regina Bakery have put local families through. Feel free to message us with questions and we will be there to answer them and really let you know what they are like to deal with.

Another thing that shows how untrustworthy this crew is, check out how many times they have changed their name. They are now trying to go as Sweet Ambroisa Bakeshoppe and Ill bet that is to avoid all the past customers who they ripped off. I am sure this is their way of trying to avoid all the negative comments about them on the internet as well, hoping they will not show
up on Google.  Heres the truth. Click the links below, or search yourself on Google. There you will read that James Mitchell, Kimberly Flichel, or Kim Flichel, and Ashlee Mitchell have destroyed so many family or ceremonial moments its disgusting. No apologies ever!!  They keep the money and hide from customers.  If you need a wedding cake in Regina, or any kind of baked good, please go elsewhere.  They need to be told its time to stop changing names, or addresses,  and shut their doors!  They are a joke of a business and enough is enough.

From the bride

AUTHOR: Janelle - (Canada)

I am the bride referred to in the above. I do have a signed contract and many emails back and forth between myself and the a fore mentioned company. I still have these emails saved and in one it clearly states what flavour etc of cake we were ordering. It was discussed in full, in email, and twice in person as to what type of cake and the price. I have proof if anyone wishes to contact me. In the emails they do not refer to it as a "policy change". I have emails that they clearly state it is in fact a CONTRACT.

I directed them to talk to my Father, Doug. He was in charge of the money, he was paying for the cake. It was two months before the wedding and I had a million things to deal with, so I needed to delegate where possible.

Also, above they mentioned they would give us our deposit back. Well I have contacted them on numerous occasions since and they have NOT given us our deposit. They do not answer emails or phone.

This is not harassment or slander. It is the truth, plain and simple. I have also contacted a lawyer who says I do have a case should I wish to pursue it. All I want is my deposit back, which is what I was promised from the beginning.

Proof of False Accusations

AUTHOR: Kimberly Flichel - (Canada)

Here is the last email we sent to the bride:

We sent the price guidelines to all of our brides/grooms. You are the only ones who have disagreed with this policy. Prices in ingredients have risen drastically in the past couple of years. You had not given us your final flavors yet and we gave everyone the option to keep their basic price the same but we also need to recover the cost of the more expensive flavors to use. You had the option of your price not being any higher, and we honored our price guarantee to you with the decorating because the same cake ordered now would be over $600.00.(with the basic cake flavors) I do not in any way think it unreasonable to recoup the cost of ingredients used and this is not personal in any way. You have refused to sign our new policy agreement and we will not make a cake for anyone who does not sign it. I do not think it is unreasonable for you to expect that in a two year period we have not updated our policies and that they would not apply to you. We expect our clients to be aware and adhere to our new policies which are in the best interest of everyone. Our contract is with Janelle and not her father. At this time, I feel it would serve the best interest of us both that you find someone else to make your cake. Your credit will be mailed at our earliest convenience. Thank you.

False Accusations and Slander

AUTHOR: Kimberly Flichel - (Canada)

The bride gave us a deposit for a wedding cake two years ago. At that time, she signed a policy agreement form which is in no way a contract. The form outlines our policies and is for our best interest that the brides understand our policies. The form is signed after we have made sure the bride is aware of our policies.
We sent the bride an email requesting her to sign a new policy guide as our policies had changed in the two year period. We emphasized that this in no way would affect her wedding price. She refused to sign the contract. We have retained all documentation regarding this.
We sent out a flavor guide and price list to all of our brides listing our new flavors and prices of our premium and gourmet choices. We left our three most popular flavors with no price increase. It is not unreasonable to expect ingredient prices to rise in a two year period. At most, it would only increase the price per servings a few cents or not at all if the basic flavors were chosen. The bride refused to comply with this list. At this point, she said she would no longer communicate with us and all correspondence would be directed to her father, Doug.
After careful consideration, we felt it best to return the bride's deposit and terminate our business with her. Her refusal to sign the new policy agreement was our main consideration. We felt it better to end it now as the situation was becoming volatile and at this point there was still time for the bride to employ another vendor to make her cake.
We have all documentation and emails retained and will gladly provide them to anyone who would like to see. We are also considering filing charges for false accusations and slander against our public business name. We have also contacted the local police department and have been advised that harrassment charges are applicable.
