Kimball Roofing Above All Roofing & Repairs LLC Refused to homor a 12 year warranty on a new roof installed by Kimall Roofing in 2002. Midway, Utah

I had a new roof put on my home by Kimball Roofing in 2002.  I was given a 12 year warranty on the roof.  I am now in the process of selling my home and upon an inspection by the buyer, it was discovered by their inspection that there was some repair wook that needed to be done on the roof so I called Kimball Roofing since the roof is still under warranty.

The warranty is in my home in Salt Lake and I live in Idaho so I had my realator go into my home in Salt Lake and get the warranty, scan and email it to Kimball Roofing.  Upon receiving the warranty, Kimball Roofing told me that the warranty was for 10 years on materials which is prorated and since it has been almost 10 years, they couldn't honor that part of the warranty and the warranty for labor was only for 2 years.

Since the warranty is in Salt Lake and I am in Idaho, I am going by memory but I don't remember ever seeing anything for 10 years nor anything for 2 years on the warranty.  The realator told me he didn't see anything about 10 years or 2 years either.  All he saw was warranty for 12 years.

When talking with Kimball Strickland who is the manager of Above All Roofing and Repairs (used to be Kimball Roofing until 2008), he told me that he would not honor my 12 year warranty since I didn't have regular maintenance done on the roof every couple of years.  I was never told that was part of keeping the warranty active nor do I recall seeing it written on the actual warranty.

Kimball did go out to the house in Salt Lake at my request in order to give me an estimate for the repair work needed.  The estimate came in at standard price of $2000 or cash discount price of $1800.

While trying to convince Kimball (via phone) that he needed to honor my 12 year warranty, he told me that he would not pay for the repairs on my roof, that he was a "nice guy" and then he hung up on me.

This guy (Kimball) seriously need to improve his "pr" (public relations) stills.  Maybe he is a nice guy, but he should have never hung up on me.  That was just totally rude and I didn't appreciate it at all.
