I put off writing a complaint of my Moving experience on August 1, 2012- with King's or King Movers & Cleaning Services based on southside of Chicago, until what I found today. We found their information via Uhaul/Movinghelp.com company who had list of mover's when you tried to checkout online after reserving a Uhaul truck. We chose King who had several good reviews & cost seemed reasonable. We then had to cancel, but called back directly to King & rescheduled. Terrible mistake.
on August 1st, the "movers" were to arrive at 8:00am, but these young guys (although seemed nice/polite) didn't arrive until 10am or heck 9:55am! so we tried to load a few things in our truck ourselves while waiting that HOT Day. We spoke to the owner on his phone as they pulled up, who apologized etc. this company is a small unknown, individually owned business working off cellphones, but we tried to give them benefit of the doubt & chance to follow through.
long story short, they worked 2.5hrs (we said 2hrs)- dropped thngs everywhere we didn't want it- Never Ever asked where to put things, couch, kitchen anything- and left with the livingrm/diningrm/bedrooms looking like a sunami hit (we have pictures too). They then charged me $165.00 no discount for the late service. we still had much more to move- but i couldnot afford more cost, unfortunately took my son & I the rest of afternoon/evening to get the rest in 1 vehicle (they left at 12:30ish pm)! I called back next day to complain of service & lady in homeoffice was nice, sympathetic, called her boss who did not care to Refund my $65 back, which I told her would be reasonable. Toya (office lady) said she would send me refund out of her own check because He showed no interest to do so- YEt they claimed to Fired both the new Movers the same day!
So it was important enough to fire them, but not to refund me for the LATENESS & MESS. after few weeks of waiting for Refund, Phone calls & no Responses, I let it go because the place needed fixup work consumed our time & still does.
Well today Friday December 7th, 2012, I finally after 4mths decided to connect the 27" TV in masterbdrm. this Tv had been working for years up until the day before the move. I had it disconnected ready to go. Now this heavy Tv has been sitting exactly on top of chester drawer untouched, no Tv watched as No cable has been on here since moving. we use a analog converter box downstairs, so i got another converter box, my cable chord ready to connect it for basic Tv channels.--GUESS WHAT HOW DO YOU CONNECT CABLE CHORD when the round metal connection piece is Completely cut off or deeply embedded into the TV??? if you lookinside the hole its like somethng was stuck inthere, twisted metal- but it noramlly sticks out the Tv to connect the cable chord to it!! I'm SO MAD RIGHT NOW. I CANNOT CONNECT ANY CONVERTER BOX OR GET REGULAR CABLE TO THIS TV IF I WANTED TO . PERFECTLY FINe Tv cannot be used due to their NEgligence. Should i just Throw this 27" AWAY to scrape & buy new TV?? this is absolutely crazy. In all my YEARs of MOving from different States, apts- home, I have NEVER seen the Cable connecter at base of tv completely Gone or Inverted - NEVER. its Completely Unuseable.
I hope this gets to the "owner" Andre I think who would step up to fix this issue. But He Won't belive me. and people need to know of this. mayble Small Claims court is Next..
