Kleiber's Kanines Denise Kleiber, Kait Kleiber Great Dane Breeder Puppies Mill Fraud AKC No Registration Neekoosa, Wisconsin

I am writing in complaint of a breeder (Kleibers Kanines in Nekoosa, WI 54457) that we have purchsed a puppy from and were not given any AKC papers at the time and we are now getting the run around from the breeder in trying to get them.

    I originally contacted the breeder via email on July 29, 2009. We were interested in a puppy that they had for sale. The breeder replied that the puppy was available and explained what all was included with the puppy purchase. I was told that a non-refundable deposit in the form of a money order would hold the pupy until it was old enough to be seperated from the litter.

    I shipped out the Money Order and was contacted via email from Denise & Kait of Kleibers Kanines that they had recieved the deposit on August 3, 2009. My wife I along with our 2 daughters were planning to travel to Wisconsin to pick up the puppy when we were told by Denise that they had a couple of other puppies to deliver and that if it worked out for us they could meet us in Indianapolis, Indiana. They said it would be no problem to bring our puppy along and since it was a shorter drive for us we agreed on meeting in Indy. We planned on meeting August 15, 2009 in Indy to pick up our new puppy and pay the remainder of the balance owed at that time. Purchase price for the puppy was $1200. We paid the $200 on the 3rd of August that left $1000 to be paid at the time of pickup. So we made our plans accordingly.

    On August 8, 2009 we got an email from Denise that they were going to bring our puppy with them but they forgot to mention that they were going to charge $150 to do so.  Of course I was not real happy about this charge since it was not mentioned until a week prior of us meeting. I had already changed and made other plans to now meet in Idianapolis and would have kept our original plans of meeting at the breeders house for a meeting of the parents and inspecting the home. Since plans had already been made Denise and I agreed to $100 to deliver to Indy.

    On August 14, 2009. Hours before my family was to leave for Indianapolis I get an email from Denise that now she had no record of ever getting or cashing our deposit. Now I had to contact the Money Order issuer and find out if and when the money order was cashed. I was informed that it was cashed on August 7, 2009. Denise then said she did have it and we would see her in Indy in the morning.

    The next morning we met Denise and her daughter Kait at a Mcdonalds in Indianapolis. She had our puppy with her along with two others. One of which she said that they were keeping for breeding purposes. We gave Denise $1200 in cash and she wrote on the Health Guarantee Agreement that she recieved the $1200 and that the puppy was paid in full. At that time I asked about the AKC Papers and she said " I have sent them in but I have not gotten them back yet. I will mail them to you once AKC gets them to me." Denise also made a written note on the Health Guarantee that upon receiving AKC Registration form for puppy, it will be mailed immediately to purchaser. Signed by Denise Kleiber. At that point we left with our Great Dane puppy and headed back for St. Louis.

    We waited a few weeks and never heard back nor got any AKC papers so on September 26, 2009 I sent Denise & Kait an email letting them know that our puppy was doing good and was checking on where we were on getting his papers. That same day we got a response from Denise that stated "I have taken on too much and am finally sitting down and entering and mailing the remainder of registrations I need to do. Should be within 2 weeks receiving and then I will mail out right away. Sorry for the delay."

    We waited a little over another month and still had not heard anything. So, on October 30, 2009 I sent another email to Denise and Kait asking about the papers we were promised. I did not get a reply so I sent another email on November 4, 2009 asking when we could expect to have his papers. On November 9, 2009 we got an email in reponse stating " I'm sorry for the delay, we had a theft upon our money acct,. all transactions and purchases I did, did not go through. I had to borrow and resubmit. We are awaiting for that payment to go through and then receive papers. Should be soon. I will send as soon as I get them. Beware when helping a person with an addiction problem, we where too trusting."

    December 9, 2009. Still no papers or any further responses from Denise or Kait about the AKC Papers that were promised. So... I send another email asking about them since it had been a month since I last heard from them. I got a reply on December 16, 2009 from Denise stating "Dam transfer is taking longer, previous owner is sending in correct info, we will send papers just as soon as I get them. No need to keep asking, we are doing all that is needed and papers will arrive and be sent as soon as I get them."

    Today is now Jan. 6, 2010 and we are at a complete loss. We have done everything that we were asked to do, paid in full for everything that was promised and it is now 4 1/2 months since we met Denise & Kait to get our puppy and we still have no AKC Papers that we were promised in 2 weeks.

    I decided to email Everyone that was listed on a "Puppy Update" Email that was sent out by Kleiber's Kanines. Come to find out there are MANY people having or have had the exact same problem. There are also other breeders that have used Kleiber's Kanines That have responded saying that they are unable to register thier litters due to the lack of paperwork and problems with registering stud dogs.  I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO USE CAUTION WHEN USING OR DEALING WITH KLEIBER'S KANINES ( DENISE KLEIBER , KAIT KLEIBER ). THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT DO NOT PROVIDE WHAT YOU ARE PROMISED!!
