Kulite Semiconductor Products Inc, for the period of six years up till now has violated Microsoft copyright laws by using unlicensed Microsoft and Other third parties software, which provided the company with unfair long term competitive advantage. During my work at Kulite, I was repeatedly forced to sign software quality control documents, which I have not signed due to the problem described above, as well as other safety issues that were involved at that time. I was never told about my work responsibilities and what procedures I should follow. Most of Kulite computers were assembled in house, did not have quality stickers and many software products such as MS Windows 98/NT/2000, MS office 97/2000, and other third party components were installed from one master disk. The president of the company d**k Martin was not only aware about these issues, but also provided support to this unethical behavior.
Kulite Semiconductor Products Inc is Mems / Pressure transducer manufacturing company that located at, One Willow Tree Road, Leonia, New Jersey, 07020. This is a privately held company with more than 500 people who assemble and fabricate about 10,000 sensors a month. Recently the company has expended to 100,000 square feet and according to Small Times, the company does more than $50 million in U.S sales (Small Times). The main company competitors are Goodrich Sensor Systems, Ametek Gulton Statham, Honeywell Aerospace, Kavlico, MKS Instruments, Dynisco, Codman & Shurtleff, and Paine Electronics, and Delphi Delco Electronic Systems (vdc-corp). Company clients are BMW, Ferrari, Booing, Airbus, NASA and other corporations (Kulite).
I believe that Kulite gained unfair competitive advantage over its competitors due to savings and profits resulted from:
X Using unlicensed servers for making data backups and sharing company resources, such as software and hardware. This provided company with substantial advantages, as they were saving money on printers, backup systems, other hardware and other software licenses, including AutoCAD.
X Using unlicensed software on production computers to design and test output products and provide customers with reports and other data. Because of this, the company was producing and shipping greater amount of units by remaining company original size. Also, due to software automation that used unlicensed products, the company benefited from chipper labor, as the complexity of production was substantially minimized.
X Use of unlicensed software in other departments also provided major savings to the company and minimized start up costs.
X Kulite had a long record of hiring illegal emigrants to work for the company with out contract. Although Kulite is known as a small size company, during the year you can find substantially more than 500 people working for the company.
X Management uses unlicensed personal to design and manage critical circuit applications and other appliances, which are not only used by Kulite personal and present potential safety issues, but also sold to Kulite clients, such as Booing, Airbus and other government agencies.
By gaining such budget relieve for six years up to now in high competitive industry, the company could allocate more budgets on research and development that possibly resulted in high amount of innovations and patents that provides the company with first-mover advantages. More importantly, the company could reduce their products cost due to cheep environment, low labor costs and gain unfair long term competitive advantage over its competitors.
My final note is that the Politics in Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc is controlled by a corrupted business/wealth elite, which dictates its interests and rules. The consequences of it is an unprecedented corporate crime, both environmental and monetarily and deterioration of employees constitutional rights and liberties. I have personally witnessed the company staff falsifies customer data files so out of spec goods could be shipped on time to the Kulite clients and falsifies quality control papers so FED would not reject shipment of units that were tested in illegal and unsafe environment. The common company politicks is to stimulate low level employees to do certain illegal things or to cover company illegal behavior for the company self profit or self interests. However, if an employee is refusing to participate in activity which he/she reasonably believes in violation of law or is fraudulent, than the common company practice is to take retaliating action against that person.
