LA Fitness automatically charged my credit card for a year's renewal in June.  In August, I moved to a city where the closest (LA Fitness) gym was 25 miles away.

I called to cancel.  This wasn't so easy since they said I needed to go to the closest gym to cancel.   Since that was obviously inconvenient,  they told me to print out the cancellation form online, fill it out and mail it in.  I did this and instead of sending me a prorated refund, they informed me my membership would expire next May.

So, in other words, they took a year's membership fee for two months that I used the gym until I moved. They are a major rip off and shouldn't be allowed to operate as they do.  It's a scam.
