I am a current LA fitness member, my sister wanted to to try out the gym and possibly sign up if the prices were affordable.  We walked in around 6:00 on 1/02/12 at the Broadview location.  I informed the front desk my sister was interested in receiving a free guest pass.  The L.A fitness associate walked over to a man, whom I later realized was the General Manager, she advised him of our needs and he responded by saying another associate would help us.  All of the associates were busy assisting other members, this man kept walking back and forth chatting with coworkers and pretty much seemed like he was sparing time.  I approached him and asked if he can help us, immediately he gave me a mean look and just seemed very annoyed by my request. 

He asked what did i need?  I said I was interested in a guest pass, asked If I was a member, then he said he didnt give guest passes if i was a prior member.  I responded by saying my sister is the one interested and she has never been a member before.  She handed her ID to him and he walked over to his desk, which we followed. 

He kept questioning my sister with questions like why are coming to this gym if you live so far? He also asked for her phone number and he kept asking her if she was sure she has not been a member before. 

this person made us feel very uncomfortable, I then mentioned she just wants to try out the gym, can you please honor a 7 day guest pass? He replied No, I will give her a 3 day pass, that should be enough.  I asked why 3 days?  he said because I say so.  I then mentioned to him he had no customer service skills, he replied by saying I dont care what you say.  I also said I would report him his Corporate, he replied by saying do whatever you want.  I asked you dont care about your job? he replied I dont care what you do! Have a Great Day!

We walked out of the gym in shock.  This person has no customer service skills, does not know how to treat current and prospect members.  I will be cancelling my family and my membership, I will also pass this on to my friends and make sure they are aware of the people LA fitness has employed.
