I bought 2 La-Z-Boy recliner/rockers the same day in December, 2008 and within one month the mechanism on one chair failed and all the mechanisms were replaced. Now the fabric is wearing out and is down to the backing (threads) on both chairs. After contacting the store with no response, it was time to notify the manufacturer.

When the manufacturer was contacted via EMail, the response was as I expected. They told me that the fabric only has a one year warranty and they could do nothing. Even though I explained both chairs' fabric was wearing out at the same time after only two years there is apparently nothing they will do to fix the problem.

I had two La-Z-Boy chairs for 20 years with the same type and color fabric and never had a problem, so they must be using Chinese fabric that is cheaply made. Please be aware that these chairs are no longer of the quality that this company was built on and stay away.

La-Z-Boy Responds Favorably

After sending pictures of the fabric directly to the company via EMail and then calling to follow up, I have received a favorable response from La-Z-Boy. On 6/2/11 I was called back and the company decided to give me credit for both my chairs at the furniture store they were bought. All I need to do is go in and pick out new chairs at no cost. Finally, a company that does value their cutomers.
