a squirrel had chewed a wire that is very visible when you open the hood.they charged 100.00 for a diagnostic test that they did not perform,they wanted 300.00 more to reconnect the wire i asked how many hours it would take and they said 3 hrs.we declined their work. they acted as if they did not care we took car to another private repair facility .they said it would take a half hour at a cost of around 39.00 len stoler showed no loyalty to a new car customer which we were it was a bad experience and i would advise anyone not to do business with them they are true ripoffs.

I have just returned from Len Stoler's Ford service department and had a very similar experience. Despite having previously been quoted a price to work on the brakes on my truck that was more than twice what I wound up paying a certified independent repair shop, I put my good judgement aside and returned for a second round of abuse because I thought the present repair might need the computer support of a dealership. The 4 wheel drive in my truck was not working and the problem was likely a control module that would need to be reprogrammed or replaced. Since the previous visit over a year ago they have started charging to diagnose your problem. I can only image that this was started due to the high percentage of customers who are unwilling to be overcharged for service. I have picked up my truck and made an appointment at Bob Davidson Ford. I was quoted around $360 for the part from Len Stoler. It was $227 at Bob Davidson. The total repair at Bob Davidson will be over $150 less that at Len Stoler. I figure I will eat the $100 to diagnose the problem and still come out $50 ahead. When I told them I was going to take it to Bob Davidson they told me the total charges for the diagnosis was $117. How is that? I asked. $99 plus tax...I was told. REALLY?? Maryland sales tax is 6% and there is no tax on labor. When I pointed this out, the service advisor put me on hold and returned to say that he had discussed it with the Service manager and that they would accept the originally quoted price of $99. Never again. I have always been impressed with the integrity of the folks at Bob Davidson. It is too bad that Len Stoler is so much closer for me. In the future I will gladly drive the extra distance to go there first. Stay away from Len Stoler.
