I, like most on the rip off complaint list, had a very slick salesman come into my small boutique and sell me a credit card agreement. He showed me with quick numbers that I could save over 35 dollars month from my current company. Although it was a lease for four years, I was told the lease could be transferred easily, just a matter of changing one account to a new account. No or very small fee.
I had my store for sale, but with the savings and the promise to easily transfer, I signed.
Immediately with the first billings, I was on the phone as now i was getting two monthly billings instead of just one, plus, I was getting all these extra small chgs at the bottom for different types of cards used. I was never told that would be on there, and I was not getting the savings I had been promised. Lastly the machine was cheap made and the paper roll kept coming off, and a ricky dink ribbon that lasts very short had to be constantly replaced.
However when i called, (which by the way took me forever to find who to talk to as there is three locations) I was flatly told there was nothing that could be done I was in a non cancelable lease. True, so I decided not much I can do, I will have to keep on.
Meanwhile the store next to me had also signed up and she too had complaints about it and the billings being delayed and not same day as our old company.
to make a long story short, I sold the store, and got the new owner to agree to the new lease. We both got on the phone made sure the transfer would be low cost. We were told 2.95 most 9 dollars. Later that week I was called to my family out of state that my dad was dying. A few days later as I am trying to cope with my dad's death and making funeral arrangements, I get a call from the new owner, she is upset and said the company for the lease c.c. machine is now wanting almost 300 dollars and that was not so bad but the lady she was trying to talk to was yelling and downgrading her, and making threats. So the new lady of the store just hung up and told me she was going to get machine through her own bank.
I got the phone number and I tried talking to the lady at WMS but she WAS rude and I was unable to talk to her. Granted I was a nervous wreck too from my dad dying but still...
finally got the manager of WMS this is the company that sells the service but does not actually handle the equipment, that is lease finance group. The manager was easy to talk to. Tj I believe was his name. He promised to call the new owner of my store and get everything taken care of.
Days later, I find out He never called, and the new owner of the store has a new machine.
Now, LFG is playing hard ball. I first called to return the machine. All I wanted was the address. It was in New York. The guy yelled at me, LADY I dont care to hear your story you cannot send the machine back you are in a NON cancelable contract. But I was able to finally get a address and sent it back. I wrote three letters and sent one to each company explaining my circumstances.
All I wanted was a offer of compromise. I was willing to pay something but since this was their customer service fault, I was and am not willing to pay some huge amt to get out of the contract.
All, I get is constant phone calls, and people who say, YOU are in a non cancelable contact blaa blaa blaa. No one listens or even tries to send me a offer and bill to get out.
I am a nervous wreck. I am going to let God handle this and I am going to help anyone who wants to sue as a group as this is plain robbery to small owners and they know it.
