Lewis Hastie Receivables - LHR Rude lying ripoff scam Hamburg New York

I was contacted on my parents answering machine out of the blue 4 years after making my last payment to my credit card company. I did not know this company or recieve anything from them before, let alone know how they got the number, so I did not call back, fearing a scam. They called a week later and started to leave a demanding and threatening message on my parent's answering machine. When I picked up the phone and told them I didn't know who they were the lady was rude. To confirm they were speaking to me they gave me the last 4 digits of my SSN, they did not ask ME for info, they gave me personal info. I could have been anyone!

After asking how much money I would send them and hearing I have no form of income at this time she put me on hold. She left me on hold for 10 minutes, then transferred me without warning.

A man picked up and immediatly started asking if I had ever been sued by a credit card company, had any leins, or a lawyer. I informed him that I had not and he told me that I was going to be sued on Friday. Since I thought I didn't have to pay my bills and began yelling at me.

I told him I had no money and he said he would sue anyway and take everything I have. Even my first born child. I then hung up on him.

Today (Friday), I received a letter stating I had until 4/14/06 to pay the amount owed or agree to payment arrangements.

I have seen no proof that they are licensed in my state (WI) and have read many reports that this company is fraudulant and threatening, they have been sued many times for their illegal actions. I do not know if I should pay or not, besides the fact that I dispute what they claim I owe.
