LIBERTY TAX SERVICE i was enrolled in a tax training class with Liberty Tax Service, the insturctor name is Christine, she was hired by Liberty tax to train the students, i completed the class training, took the tests ne EAST ORANGE, New Jersey

You say you didn't want to work there in the first place and only wanted to take the class to learn. From what you have said you did just what you started out to do and you paid the 159 dollars needed to do that.

You obviously passed the the course and learned what you set out to learn. You didn't get hired there ie You didn't want to be hired. So what is the deal? Seems to me you have to complain about something and this sight is a good place for you.

If you paid 159 dollars and accomplished what you set out to accomplish you were not ripped off. To be ripped off you must pay for the class and not be taught anything. I am taking the class right now and they told us up front they only hire 90% of the class. Also I do understand you had emergencies happen but it is a 6-10 week course and if you could not be in the class faithfully in that amount of time I wouldn't hire you as it would be the same scenero with you showing up for work. Think about it would you hire someone that couldn't be there for a short class for any lenght of time? I wouldn't.

If you have been doing taxes since 2004, then why did you take the tax class in the first place. You say you had no intentions on working with the company. Then basically all you paid for was the books. There was no need to take any further steps with you. We do not offer continuing education classes, nor computer training to someone who does not intend on working the company. You keep stating you were ripped off, please explain how is that possible when once again you stated that you never wanted to work for the company.

In the end you are stating false information because you did not get hired by the company. Please get your facts straight before you want to lie about something.

Okay, i worked as a sign spinner for Liberty Tax for a season about a year ago, so i dont know much about what you're talking about. But i will say this, during my time there they seemed like a pretty shady operation. I had constant disputes with my boss over how much i was soposed to be payed (they were shorting me $0.50 an hour the whole time i worked there.) and they did have some problems with local authorities regarding illegal advertising and things of that nature. 

so yeah, they are kind of a shady operation. 

having said that though, i understand why they did what they did. it sucks that you had family emergencies, but if you miss class, then they aren't going to hire you. it is a red flag to them that you wont be a reliable employee. and like that one response said, its just like taking a class at a community college, you pay for the materials, but you need to be there. and there is no guarantee that you'll get the job, its just a class. the job market is competitive as f**k right now, so you need to step your game up. they are much more likely to hire a CPA or EA. thats f**ked up, but thats life. dont think that some cheap a*s class is gonna guarantee you a job making bank, life aint that easy. put in work.

BECAUSE YOU RIPPED ME OFF FOR MY HARD EARNED MONEY.  STOP RIPPING INNOCENT PEOPLE OFF!, PEOPLE WORKS HARD FOR THEIR MONEY, AND THEY DO NOT NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU AT LIBERTY TAX SERVICES IN EAST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY TO CONTINUE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. I DON'T HAVE MONEY LIKE THAT TO BE WASTED. I NEVER WANTED TO WORK FOR YOUR COMPANY AT LIBERTY TAX SERVICES ALL I  WANTED TO DO WAS TO COMPLETE THE CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE AND BE ON MY WAY.  I DID NOT KNOW THAT LIBERTY TAX SERVICES IN EAST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY BE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF FOR THEIR MONEY.  BUT, I KNOW NOW. I am responding back to the report that was made on being ripped off for taking the Liberty Tax Service tax course. The individual that wrote this report did not give accurate information. The individual did not listen to the instructions that was given on the first day of the class.

When you sign up for the class (as well as any other class) you are informed that this class is not a guarantee offer of employment. Some people believe that they can take the class and they are guaranteed employment with company and it does not work that way at all. Yes, you are charged $159 for the training materials needed for the class. No different from you taking a course at a community college where you have to pay for the training materials.

The individual was not invited our training class because people think that all you have to do is your work and that is all. We have quizzes, midterms, finals, along with class participation, attendance, and your overall attitude. If you come to class and don't participate how are we suppose to hire you.

Also we do not offer computer training until you have completed our class. We teach everything by pen and paper. Some people are just disgruntle because they think that this is a guaranteed job position and it is not.

We would like to hire everyone that takes the class but unfortunately not everyone makes it and not everyone is meant to to taxes.
