Lamar County DFCS ripoff Barnesville Georgia

The same thing happened to my Cousins. They were taken from their Mother and Father because Walton County DFACS said the kids were deprived. The mother moved to a shelter with kids because of Domestic Issue with her husband. (Which was only verbal) then shelter asked her to leave because of contact with her husband. Then took the children from her because she didn't have a place to live when they left shelter. Kids were never abused, neglected, or harmed in any way. Mother did multiple parenting plans only to be asked to do more. Family  went through multiple caseworkers. Only to be told something different by each one. Mother decides to move back home to live with her Mother and kids  Grandmother advised DFACS she will take the children. Two years later still no home visit to the grandmothers house or any contact. Then parents go to court and new caseworker said Grandmothers house was not fit and they had never been to the house .( by the way is like a home out of Interior Design magazine) In court parents attorney asked for paperwork on visit to the grandmothers house and DFacs never produced it. The previous caseworker was recommending children come home and then that caseworker quits. The new one files the next week for Rights to be Terminated.Reason latest caseworker states in court for Parental Rights are being terminated is something doesn't feel right. Mothers Court appointed attorney would meet with her 5 mins before the trial. Nothing more. Then during the trial goes to lunch with the DFACS workers. Mother sitting their in court facing losing her children and attorney leaves with caseworkers.  Fathers has his own court appointed  attorney which is actually pretty good but gets no where with the case. Prosecter changed fathers words around in court when father said he would like to get a bigger house so kids have their own rooms. In the court documents he said Father said I want to move because I have Drug Dealers with guns coming to my house all hours of the night. Like anyone with a half of a brain would say that in court even if it was true. These caseworkers kept this famy jumping through hoops, paying for classes, to the point they couldn't work for the system making them take all these programs. If I hadn't seen all this unfold with my own eyes I would never have believed it.  How could parents go to work and get a home. They have lost everything. Other grandmother actually had children for a little while but she has a job and DFACS won't assist her with any daycare. Would rather pay Foster parents instead if helping a relative have the children. This is the biggest injustice I have ever seen. People physically abuse kids and have more rights than this family did. They are really cute children and maybe the system wanted them bad. Someone please help fight this goverment agency from doing this to another family.

DFCS didn't "kidnap" your children.  They don't somehow earn money by taking poor people's children into care.  In fact, DFCS SPENDS a sizeable chunk of change removing kids from irresponsible/neglectful/abusive parents.  I'm not sure where you got the idea that they somehow gained financially by removing your children from your home, but that notion simply does not make sense.



Appeals to the Governor, the President, or Mickey Mouse won't help you once your children have been removed from your custody.  What WILL help is for you to work the case plan DFCS and the judge set before you.  Your conspiratorial view that DFCS and your local family court judge are "crooked" criminals who lie in order to make money is pitiable at best. 



I don't work for DFCS or any other government agency, but I have worked WITH DFCS, various foster care placement agencies, and hundreds of families whose children were temporarily taken into DFCS custody while the parents got their lives sorted out.  Rather than rail against your misperceived persecution by the system, you and your children would be much better served if you simply worked your case plan as instructed.  That case plan is designed to ensure that your children receive minimally adequate care, something which you evidently were not providing if they were removed from your home.



Bottom line: DFCS doesn't somehow generate cash by paying to place kids in foster care, and they're not "harassing" you.  Your ongoing resistance to their intervention will lead to only one result: your children's permanent placement in foster care or an adoptive home. 



Just work your case plan -- you and your children will be a lot better off for it.
