Dr. Talmadge does not allow women physicians care-to-function (even ob-gyn) before suspending/re-suspending their medical license for disagreeing with the wrong care and missed diagnoses when trying to save health, wrists, thyroid, ability to practice or get married - which you can't do published 'impaired' for disagreeing about medical bad care - this is talking about my 'case' with the State Medical Board of Ohio - where no one can say the word 'mistake' or admit the boxes of casually confabulated lies.
As a practicing ob-gyn on the State Medical Board of Ohio, Dr. Talmadge did not allow me even women's medical care or appropriate blood work for YEARS (all my child-bearing years were lost on purpose), insisting that I just needed psychiatric help to accept bad or non-care the male physicians in Ohio don't have to do care on, or refer, women physicians.
It took until 2001 to get a complete thyroid panel of tests with antibodies, until 1997 to get ANY blood work after 1991, and until 2003 to get a vitamin D level checked - where the 'answer' was as to what I had - the BLOOD WORK - what physicians are supposed to do except in OHIO. Turned out that I had a rare, 1% of women, endocrine problem - not a personality problem that made the guys do bad care. The problem: State of Ohio Medical Board Members don't believe in blood work, or even the truth. My medical license was suspended for making too much, and asking for the medical records for the consultants.
The medical records turned up TYPED 1.5 years later at the State Medical Board, previous to being all over Hillcrest Hospital, filled with fabrications and sexual innuendo too late to stop the Hillcrest lockerroom 'campaign' against my license, save my fracture results or properly diagnose the thyroiditis before thyroid burn-out.
The only relationship I've been allowed for 16 years is an invention of Dr. Nice's sick mind that I was somehow interested in him romantically short, fat, balding, crude, arrogant, and reeking of Polo cologne = the orthopedic male prototype in Ohio. There were no WOMEN orthopedics in the Cleveland area in 1990-2 that did hand fractures; there was only one woman orthopedic, and she wouldn't help me even when I BEGGED her on the phone.
And as it turned out, many orthopedics/physicians knew that Dr. Nice didn't do hand fractures well, had many UNUSUAL complications of his procedures, 'hit' on the staff and colleagues, and needed to refer hand fractures. Dr. Nice was asked to call The Cleveland Clinic or University Hospitals Orthopedics, as both my wrists had been fractured, and refused many times citing that he didn't have to refer a woman physician in Ohio I had to refer myself and it took weeks as no one would believe me.
Dr. Talmadge hasn't believed me for 9 years now (1999-2009), while secretarially efficiently mailing diatribes and demands for evaluations for diagnoses that I don't have = even when he was in-between Medical Board appointments/re-appointment during the Taft years. I've been an OBSESSION of the State Medical Board of Ohio, and him, for 16 years now, because physicians and State Medical Board Members in Ohio can't admit a mistake or missed diagnosis.
We have no MISTAKE LAWS in Ohio, as they have had to implement in 35+ other states, including Pennsylvania, California, etc. Everyone just lies and the biggest, most powerful, liar wins in Ohio - for political & liability reasons. I'm not IMPAIRED, had no patient complaints, and didn't miss patient diagnoses, as I listened to the patients and did what they asked within reason, ie checked on their intuitions & family history problems. Yet what I did for patients, I couldn't get from ANY physician in Ohio; the care I gave didn't come back in any measure as I was COMPETITION. So even if this ever ends, I need to leave and start somewhere else where I'm not TRASH - like one of Dr. Talmadge's 3rd trimester abortions.
Make a mistake in Ohio - just kill the mistake is the modus operandi. Dr. Talmadge does not know how to diagnose women's hormone problems, thyroid problems, or metabolic bone problems and his women patients need to be aware of this. Along with other State Medical Board of Ohio Members, he doesn't believe in allowing a woman physician care-to-function and appropriate blood work before suspending her medical license for not going along - it's all POLITICS, not about patient care, about letting the 'boys be boys' as in the Attorney General's Office recently.
Through actions at the Board, he has consistently voted for maintaining the suspension of my medical license instead of fixing the care problems in a non-disciplinary way - the non-disciplinary path in many states ie Minnesota (how the Mayo Clinic gets out of omissions, gaffes). Fracture care of women patients, even physicians, is sloppy and negligent in Ohio had to order my own x-rays, provide my own splints and cast padding, endure the guy comments, and got beaten up for it in Dr. Keith's office with Dr. Victor Goldberg listening on the phone intercom. And if Dr. Stephens trained at University Hospitals of Cleveland, the 'truth' about the 'boys being boys' will never come out, and I'll just die of an untreated hip fracture = what I'm scheduled for at present.
Because of Dr. Talmadge, and other Members, the confidential complaint law in Ohio is observed as well as most laws or office policies in Ohio: there are no rules of evidence at the State Medical Board of Ohio, there's no discovery, and the confidential file law is broken for friends of Dr. Suppes so that Dr. Nice tells you that he can see THAT YOU NEVER PRACTICE MEDICINE AGAIN in Ohio or anywhere. The original complaint against me needs to come out so that I can defend myself. My complaint was given to Dr. Nice, without investigation and against State of Ohio law, in 1991. Nothing was ever done about the mess and problems, and I never got the medical records until too late. Dr. Talmadge has made a public joke of getting back at me for disclosing problems, harassments, and the inadequate care that goes on the leaving fractures of woman physicians to rot until they became 'excrescent,' the not putting stockingette padding in casts so that the cast 'ate' through the skin of my hand while Dr. Nice was out shopping for polo ponies, the not allowing workup or referrals to hand/endocrine experts in time, the refusal to let the Mayo Clinic or The Cleveland Clinic finish the medical workup that everyone, besides the State Medical Board of Ohio, could see I needed after 3 fractures with no trauma or bone stress. Dr. Talmadge has believed piles of lies and things I never said, did, or could possibily say/do as I was nearly losing the function of my R hand for most of 1990-2, ie asking Dr. Nice out ice skating, about his personal habits, etc.
Dr. Talmadge went along with the total loss of my medical 'confidentiality' (publishing a PAP smear from the Mayo Clinic note addressed to ME that's in public records) to make me admit a false case, and finally has threatened that nothing will ever be straightened out unless I go along with the Board recommendations - recommendations that no medical insurance will pay for the continual goes to find some personality flaw that will justify 16 years of harassment and loss of medical licensure.
The State Medical Board of Ohio couldn't make the rare diagnosis that I did have, couldn't allow me treatment for it, but has zealously searched for a 'zebra' that will get them out of liability - even invented a diagnosis that doesn't exist. Army Medicine needs good physicians and he knows this, but I'm not allowed to get the treatment that I need to get a decent job in medicine or join the Army - I'm not even good enough for 'fodder' in Iraq - where they need physicians with my training badly. And I'd rather be at the other end of an Iraqi gun than debated by the State Medical Board of Ohio for another minute. For 16 years I've been told that I should work in 'some lab.' It's not just that Drs. Nice, Keith and Lafferty goofed, its that Dr. Talmadge has determined that the woman-physician-patient will pay the price for bringing the harassment problems to light.''
Outpatient care is not o.k. for serious, or multiple, fractures in Ohio; the workup never gets done and the male orthopedics just pretend the care, 'fix' the records, and say you need 'counseling' so that you don't sue (Dr. Michael Keith). The Board goes after you with experts that have no training in women's medicine, can't do Rorschach tests, and invent DSM diagnoses because they don't understand what happened (the second expert for the Board admitted that he wasn't sure what was going on here) so that you have to get an expert who wrote the DSM, and they still didn't believe him in 1995-6, ie Dr. Andrew Skodol, who wasn't allowed the complete record or the time to get a medical workup on me in New York City.
My personality has been dissected, transposed, minefielded, destructured and imploded in an effort to find something wrong with me - that I couldn't function, with the little medical care allowed me in Ohio. The blood work had to be done in other states. I can show my orthopedic results and x-rays to newly-appointed Susan Stephens MD, but it won't fix the unnecessary malunions of years ago (no one can re-break the wrists at this point) or the continued fracturing because a thyroid/endocrine condition was left untreated = 8 fractures, not just the original 3. Dr. Keith's experimental cast didn't work after 3 weeks of non-casting by Dr. Timothy Nice - while all of Hillcrest watched and wouldn't help me (Dr. O'Day had plenty of casting materials in the ER at Hillcrest). Both my parents and I tried to discuss my health care concerns with my Ohio physicians, but I was just unlucky, and then my license was suspended, without any patient problems, so that I was totally discredited and didn't deserve any care in Ohio or any State. I wasn't allowed by Drs. Nice, Keith, Suppes, O'Day, or the Medical Board of Ohio to take the Fellowship in Bone Metabolism in 1992 that I was offered. Dr. Louis Avioli was going to recheck all the blood work and treat the bone problem the same one that my mother and cousin have. In 1992, there was at least ONE national expert who thought the bone condition was 'serious' and needed treatment or stabilization SOON.
Dr. John Potts, of MGH, recommended that I start PTH in 2005 - but University Hospitals doesn't have a program using that drug - and won't admit that they made a mistake in my case. So instead my life, career, and health has been wrecked for politics, egos, mistakes, and stupidity a stupidity that Susan Stephens MD didn't have to endure to get through. My heart is broken at the waste, as are the hearts of my poor parents who paid for my education and had to watch me rot and fracture for the last 16 years.
There needs to be procedural reforms at the State Medical Board of Ohio and Dr. Talmadge needs to start LISTENING. Patients and physicians need to be wary and concerned about what is going on at the State Medical Board of Ohio. Complaints are not going to be handled in a constructive moving-forward, problem-solving way, and lives/careers will be ruined for politics and statistics. The complaint against me was a 'colleague' complaint that needed handling in a different professionally sensitive way, while I continued to get medical care. This NIGHTMARE needs to end, and the appointment of Dr. Stephens is not going to 'fix' things after 16 years - where was one WOMAN ORTHOPEDIC 16 years ago who knew how to cast a wrist fracture? That's what I needed; a 'save' - can't even write this without crying; went into medicine to save patients and I couldn't save myself from malpractice.
