On Aug. 6 I worked for a company called Langer Security also known as Secure-Tek. We worked security at a festival called the Hard Festival. I arrived at the time I was told which was 2pm. We all waited in the hot sun for one hour before we were issued our uniforms to start working. I was put at the entrance of the festival where we were told to search people coming into the festival. After working 6 hours, I told one of the supervisors that I was getting dizzy and my heart was beating fast due to some medication I was on. They asked me if I wanted to leave and I said yes. That Monday I sent an email asking when I was going to get paid. They told me it usually takes about 2 weeks I then sent another email telling them I arrived at work at 2pm like I was told and not 3pm when I was signed in and I should be paid for 6 hours. I was then told in the security industry there is something called waiting time where you don't get paid until you actually start working. I then informed them that there a labor laws that prevent employers from exploiting employees like this. I told them I was involved in another incident in the past where I was denied 1/2 hour overtime and reported it to the Ca. Labor board and not only did they have to pay me the overtime, but was also paid $1200 in fines for not paying all my salary. When I told the supervisor of this, he said he did not like to be threatened. He said if I wanted to do it legally, I would have to come in and fill out a w4 so all appropiate witholding taxes could be deducted from my check. He then provided me a phone no. to call so I could make an appointment to fill out the w4. I called this no. repeatedly and no one answered the phone or replied to my messages. Finally after about 2 weeks, they gave me the address to come to to fill out the w4. After waiting about 1/2 an hr, the gentleman gave me an old tattered copy of a blank w4 form from 2011. I then sent an email asking when I was to be paid. They told me when the company that contracted the work out to them paid them they could pay me. After waiting another week I enquired about getting paid. I received a threating letter from an executive for Langer Security saying I was being rude and abusive to his employees and to please stop. On the same day, Friday Sept. 6 their HR person said I could come in to their office located in an abandoned bar to pick up my paycheck. I asked if they could just send me the check. I gave them my address and thought that was the end of it. On Saturday I received another nasty letter for H Wramble asking to stop harrasing his employees. I sent another email saying the I had already sent an email to his HR person to mail me my check. That was the last communication I had with Langer Security and have still not received my check today Sept. 13, 2012. I have filed a complaint with the Calif. Labor board about unpaid wages for work I did on Aug. 6 2012. This is over a month ago and I still haven't been paid. If you get an offer to work for Langer Security or Secure-Tek. please beware this is a illegitmate company that will do their best to cheat you out of wages worked or quite possibly not pay you at all. Thank you.

Last week, I filed a report on how Langer Security also known as Secure Tek did not pay me in over a month. This Saturday I received a check for $32. The check had no information about what I was being paid for. When I requested that they pay me for 6 hours. They asked me to come in at 2pm and I had to leave at 8pm. When I enquired after the job saying even though I showed up at the requested time of 2pm they didn't have to pay me until 3pm, when they handed out the uniforms. They called waiting time. When I complained about this they said if I wanted to get paid legally. Which means to me that they don't pay normally in a legal way, I would have to come in and fill out a w-4 form. After waiting over two weeks where to go to fill out the form, they gave me a tattered copy of a blank w4 form from 2011. Even after that I still had to wait an additional 2 weeks to receive a check. Before I received the check, I received a threating letter saying I was treating their employees in a threatening and abusive way. So now I have received a check which was for only 4 hours worked. They said they were going to pay me for 5 hours and not 6 hours, which I should have been paid. But in the long run, I was only paid for 4 hours Minimum wage $8 an hr times 4 = $32. They didn't even attach a pay stub telling me what I was being paid for. Remember they told me I would have to fill out a w-4 form before they could pay me. Most likely they probably just threw that in the trash. I originally filed a complaint with the Calif. Labor Board about not being paid. When the Labor Board does contact me about the issue, I will tell them I was finally paid, but was shorted 2 hours pay. I urge you never to accept a job for this immoral and illegal employer and I urge any one that needs to use a security organization for the company not to use their services. Especially Staff Pro which contracted out this company for the work that I did. Thank you, Adam Wagner
