I used my timeshare week at Bahia Turquesa through Interval International and attended the free breakfast vacation club introduction. After 3 hours of badgering after every "No" that I uttered (I do not know why I stayed), Randy McIntyre and Fran Salas talked me into exchanging my timeshare at the Flagship for their vacation club through Interval International at Bahia Turquesa. Sadly, I sent $4,950 to Costa Rica Vacations, LLC. and allowed them to open a credit card through Interval International for $6950. They were going to email me the contract stating they would send me $11,000 within 300 days to purchase my timeshare. When I returned home and read the contract, it was not a contract. It was a useless piece of paper. Then I read about the scam on this and other web sites including the BBB and Attorney Generals. I am still having a hard time believing that I actually got involved in this. I am pursuing different avenues to try to recover my money and pursue criminal proceedings against all of the companies listed. This is fraud. How can they just be allowed to continue to do this to people? Any help or advice is appreciated. Miss G

Buy timeshares - Not a good deal

AUTHOR: VirgRios - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, February 04, 2014

Buy timeshares is never a good idea. But for those who really feel they need one I make one recommendation: Never buy from the developer. Always wait for timeshares to appear on the secondary market, usually at half-price. People like you get excited at the new developments and jump right in, only to become disillusioned later and dump the property onto the secondary market, at a loss, for a patient, informed buyer to take advantage of.

Time shares are a scam

AUTHOR: VickyF - ()

Just because time shares have several stakeholders does not necessarily mean it is, or remain, in amazing condition. Timeshares often have rules that restrict the amount of decorating and personalization that can be applied to a property. Since owners each have such a small stake in the timeshare, the upkeep and pride that comes with owning a property often falls on the maintenance staff. This can sometimes mean an inconsistent, or even run-down, quality in a timeshare
