This guy over charged me for work that was never performed, phone calls that were never made and when I fired him refused to return the unearned portion of my retainer fee.

Don't use this person for you court issues. This person will only bargain for the least amount of time you serve in jail or a quick settlement from an insurance company so he can get a quick buck. He will not use the law to your advantage. If you are charged with a crime he will plea bargain for your time in jail instead of trying to use the legal system so you don't have to serve any jail time. He is no longer a lawyer as he was disbarred for criminal activities.

If you call him for services he will try to contract you to have him complete your paperwork and file your paperwork. All for a fee of course. He cannot represent you in a court of law and therefore, his paperwork can be court questioned and your lawyer may not accept his documentation for your case. This may result in you paying double for your paperwork completed.  Don't be fooled by him. Go to a board certified lawyer before you pay this guy a dime.

This Is Not True

AUTHOR: Laurence F. Haines, Esq. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 21, 2009

This "ripoff" report is false. No such client ever existed. This is filed by a paralegal who is upset that I am informing consumers on CraigsList that they are not legally allowed by law [California Business and Professions Code Section 6450 et seq.] to work directly for the public, set fees and/or contract without working for [not with, but for] a California attorney or it is filed by disbarred attorneys who also like to advertise on CraigsList illegally to perform 'legal services' for the public. Each of these categories of individuals are breaking the law.

Let's dissect:

"This guy over charged me for work that was never performed, phone calls that were never made and when I fired him refused to return the unearned portion of my retainer fee.

"charged me for work never performed . . ." and "phone calls that were never made . . ." In California, this type of unethical behavior would be corrected by a fee dispute. My clients do not get charged for work never performed. No fee dispute have ever been filed against me"

"I fired him [when he] refused to return the unearned portion of my retainer fee . . ." This is a serious allegation. All the alleged client had to do was contact the California Bar who regulates lawyers and make a complaint. No such complaints have been filed.

I suggest anyone who wants to get to truth, read B&P Section 6450 and then go to the San Diego CraigsList and review the posts of such luminaries as Lonnie Markum [resigned from the State Bar with charges pending], Sam, Robert, Steve Winker, Kathryn and others who are violating the law.

I have already sued one such "paralegal" into oblivion Scalione v. George W. Morgan III has seen the light and no longer breaks the law. MORE WILL FOLLOW.

Anyone want to talk about this? Laurence F. Haines, Esq. HainesLaw, (760) 741-4529. I look forward to speaking with you and explaining all of this.

Thanks.
