I started with this company about two months ago. According to their bogus contract they are supposed to give quality emails to their independent rater agents. I never received one negative review. I had been in touch with their "quality team" throughout my contracting term with them. Today, I questioned them about one aspect of their applications for agents. Very late that night after working hours, I attempted to log in to the rater home. And a very nice applet popped up telling me my contract had been terminated and to uninstall their toolbar. Nasty bastards. I checked my email and sure enough there was one of their missives telling me that I had breached their contract because of substandard work. FUNNY... MOST PLACEs WOULD TELL IN TWO MONTHS IF YOUR WORK WAS SO SUBSTANDARD. After some research I found a website where many others starting a week ago had cruelly and unexpectedly received this heartless email for this sham of an operation. Many like me with no previous mention of the quality of their work. Some had actually received glowing reviews right before their termination. Caveat Emptor...if you are relying on this to meet ends realize it could be very temporary. Better yet, try their more kind and decent, reputable counterparts...Workforce Logic, Butler Hill and Lionbridge. Stay far away from this creepy, creepy company.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Leapforce

AUTHOR: anonymous - (Germany)

When I worked from Europe with nices guys from Xerox, Palo Alto, they taught me that work has to be money or fun or better both. With Leapforce it is neither money nor fun.

First I passed the tests, then I used their simulators to do better. I studied their training material and all the manual stuff. Hard job if English is not your mother tongue. Later I got work for about half an hour a day. For three days last month they switched their rating interface off.

This month they sent an email that they would maintain their site for two days. The two days passed and one week later I asked them very politely when their machine would be on the job. No answer for several days. I am working on other jobs and I have to plan myself my business hours.  Suddenly I got the message that I was switched off after thoroughly investigation because of substandard work and I had no longer access. Despite this fact they sent me by email erronous tasks to correct which I never saw before.

Concerning the experiences above I can only say: Better stay off and look for a real serious job with a serious company.

Important Details on the BBB Rating Report

AUTHOR: TobeFair - (United States of America)

Actually reading the BBB rating referred to on this page reveals that the BBB's  F rating was not based on complaints, as it has received none in the past 36 months as of this writing (which extends beyond the founding date the BBB reports for this company).

The report states that "Reasons for this rating include:
  • BBB concerns with the industry in which this business operates.
  • Length of time business has been operating."
The report later categorizes the business type as "Work-at-Home Companies", and the "Original Business Start Date" is given as October 2008,.

They used the "quality" reason as terminating many contracts

AUTHOR: virtuallyvirtuous - (United States of America)

It is contracted work, I understand this and fully expected, given the economic crisis, that eventually they would just not renew contracts, however like the original report here I was given the exact same notice, and also I had only gotten glowing reviews of my work in my time with the company. I wasn't "pissed off" or anything due to being let go apart from the fact that they could have just said "you're a contractor, we are running out of work, and we're cutting back, you are no longer employed". They didn't need to pretend I was doing substandard work, so just as the rebuttal above said the contract means you have little to no right to employment as an employee of leapforce, additionally, they should have the respect to just admit that they have too many employees and too little work (I knew it was coming as there would never be any work to do at certain hours and I would log out and wait a few hours then try again so as not to hinder my performance metrics). I appreciate the opportunity to make a few extra bucks, but leapforce could have been more professional in their method of ending the contract prematurely (only 1 month in my case).

The only thing that is unprofessional is Leapforce's behavior towards it contractors

AUTHOR: Rosalynd y. doneghy - (U.S.A.)

Regardless of your positive experience with this company, many people have not had a positive experience with Leapforce. As stated, people are being terminated after receiving excellent reviews from Leapforce or no negative reviews at all. What is unprofessional is how Leapforce never responds to the terminated person at all. Emails go unanswered, request for proof of substandard work goes unanswered. This is a pattern with this company.  There F rating with the BBB shows this. And before you say that does not mean anything, that is not true. If they had an F rating simply because there was not enough information, they would have NR (no rating) because the BBB does not have enough information on the company. How many companies do you know never give a name when responding to contractors? Leapforce employees never reveal their names. That should be a tip-off. It is always the Leapforce Quality team or some equally vague team name. I am sorry the only abusive behavior is Leapforce towards it's contractors. People do not have to take my word. Just search Leapforce and read how many people feel abused by this company.

#5 UPDATE Employee

Leapforce has not violated any of their terms

AUTHOR: mamajen - (United States of America)

I have worked for this company as an Independent Contractor for more than seven months and have been treated fairly at all times.  Employees of Leapforce are Independent Contractors.  As such, Leapforce has little obligation to them and should not be expected to maintain a working relationship with contractors who cannot perform up to their standards.  Each and every contractor signs an agreement setting forth the terms under which they will be employed.  This person is absolutely incorrect in stating that "According to their bogus contract they are supposed to give quality emails to their independent rater agents."  I suggest all terminated contractors carefully review the paperwork that they voluntarily signed.  It is completely within the employer's rights to terminate employees as they see fit.  Anyone familiar with this field of work knows that waves of terminations are common, regardless of the company you work for.  Leapforce does not deserve this abusive report, and considering the unprofessional manner in which it was written, it is not surprising that they chose to sever ties with this individual.
