Legacy Collect Telecommunications Charged 41.32 for a 10 minute call with no warning of their charges Cypress California

My mentally challenged mother was out of town and required the use of a simple public telephone. As hard as that is to find these days, she managed to contact me and after 4 tries of providing my card information the call was abruptly discontinued. I immediately had the sense this businesse was untrustworthy. Finally an operator connected our call after taking my personal information.

The connection was horrific and because I couldn't hear her speak the call was consequentially longer. I honestly didn't have a choice and as a result was completely ripped off. A day later I was charged $41.32 for a call that was about 10 minutes long. I am outraged and feel helpless that this sort of injustice occurs as often as it does. Seeing complaints even more extreme than my own is disheartening. i hope something will be done.
