Merchant Discount Health Plan uses information they get from Discover Cards Merchant Processing account to take money from your bank account without notifying you. Apparently, there is some sort of fine print on your statments so if you're not careful they can take your money for months on end. The monthly charge is $39.95 but for what...no one knows. Enrollment process is unclear. From what I've read here, apparently it was through one of the MANY automated messages we get during business hours....even though my business is on the Do Not Call List, I guess it dosen't apply. Regardless, everyone that answers the phone at my business is instructed to hang up the call and NEVER respond to telemarketers on "verification" requests. That being said, perhaps just ending the call early automatically enrolls one in this scam of a "health plan".
Thinking of ending my relationship with Discover Cards. Not very many people carry Discover anyway. Perhaps that is why they have to make money by selling our information.....
