Fleming's real name, however, is Rena Fleming (b. 4-17-70). She has an embarrassing personal legal and financial history in her home state of Oklahoma, and later Maryland, that she may be attempting to conceal. Fleming lives near Denver, Colorado now, and is an accountant. At NCSF functions and in the press, she vastly overstates her academic and professional credentials. Fleming has been treated for mental health conditions over the course of several years, but promotes herself as a healthy example of "the scene" she represents.
Fleming files lawsuits and testifies on behalf of NCSF, including in a federal challenge to the Communications and Decency Act, as "Leigha Fleming". If NCSF endeavors to be a legitimate and transparent national organization, it needs to address this leadership problem.
