Liberty Tax 3800 North Mesa Liberty Tax cost me $9000 in IRS Penalties Internet

I have not been able to resolve my issues with Libery Tax. I had them prepare a tax return in 2009 which I was later informed by the IRS that I owed $9000 in unpaid taxes and penalties. I have attempted to resolve this with their corporate offices, and the local franchise holders. One went out of business and the second franchise holder claims he has nothing to do with anything since he wasn't the owner. It appears their tax preparers are not well trained in preparing income tax returns and they may be overly agressive in preparing the returns so they look good. They look good until you get assessed penalties later.

The corporate office passes everything to the local office. I, at one time agreed to settle this dispute if Liberty Tax would pay the additional taxes. Liberty Tax has refused to pay any amount. What angered me the most is how I was treated by the current franchise holder.

I see that Liberty Tax has lots of similar complaints regarding returns with errors that later result in IRS penalties. I hope that I prevent others from facing a similar situation in the future.
