I Purchased A Cell Phone For Nearly $100.00. Phone Could Not "Recieve Service". Also the Phone Was Obviously Used - Dirt In the Key pad Etc.- Not New - Which Is What I Paid For.
When I Called The Same Day To Return The Phone The Sales Woman Told Me To Wait 7 Days For The Phone To "Pick Up A Signal" Which Is Obviously Ridiculous. I Went All Through Reston & Herndon VA Without It able To Pick Up A Signal.
I Told Her Firmly I Wanted A New Phone - Then Got So Frustrated With Her Obviously "Scripted" Replies - I Said I Wanted To Cancel The Service All Together. The Response Was Over & Over Mrs. "" Just Give Us 7 More Days... The Later Oh Mrs "" Just Give Us 5 More days etc. I Was On The Phone For Nearly One Hour Hust Trying To Get Them To Accept My Cancelation!
I Sent The Phone Back The Very Next Day - Via Fed-Ex - At My Expense. When I Called For My Refund They Claimed They Had Not Recieved My Phone -So I E-mailed Them The Tracking Info Along W/ The Signature Of a L. Williams Whom Recieved the Package.
Then They Said Oh Well It Needs To Go through "Processing" to make sure the phone is in good condition. Then They Said Well We Got The Phone It's In Good Condition But We Need 7-10 Days To Refund your Account.
This was back On January 9th 2004. It Has Been a Month - NO Refund. I Have Called & E-mailed Literally Every Day- Sent Numerous E-mails - With Only A Standard Reply Via E-Mail - That We Are Working On Your Refund.
Just as A Side Note - It Is Impossible To Reach A Live Person Unless You Choose The Option To Make A Payment - Or Buy A Phone. A Person Literally Stays In "Cue" For Hours Otherwise. This Company Almost Never Releases Employee Names or Extentions On Phone Or E-Mail. I Have Obtained The Names Of A Few:
Liberty Wireless Only References a Billing Department Or Customer Service on There E-mails. I Have Also Never Recieved A Return Call- After six "promised" Return Calls. They Refuse To Give Out There Main Number In Largo. I Actually Had A Customer Service Person "Eric ESPI" Ask If I Was Recording The Conversation !!! That Made Me Wonder If They Are Being Sued. He Also Let Slip That The Refund Would Be Through Collections.. ?
I Have Wasted Hours Of Time Almost $100.00 & nearly lost my sanity out of Frustration.
These Phones Are Generally For People Who Can Not Get Phones Anywhere Else Because of Credit Problems Or Lack Of Funds-People Trying To Obtain A Phone To Live Life Make Doctors Appointments Etc.
As a Result This Company Knows It Can Take Advantage Of These People, & Not Face Legal Retribution. This Is Just Plain Unjust & Illegal. I Ponder Just How Much Money This Company Has Literally Stolen From It's "Prized" Customers.
P.S. I am 29 Years Old & Have Never Posted a Complaint Against a Company On The Internet. I Hope No One Else Has To Go Through This- So I Have Taken The Time To Post This.
