#1 Consumer Suggestion

Read the terms and conditions

AUTHOR: Wanda - (U.S.A.)

I decided NOT to go with the Liberty after reading the complaints on this site. Just to reinterate EXCERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO BE INFORMED 'BEFORE' giving money to someone.

ALWAYS check the Better Business Bureau in the state the company is located in, you can do the easily right on the internet. Do a simple 'google search' type in the name of the company, 'Liberty Wireless' it will list anything and everything about the compnay, it listed this site. (must be a good search)

DO THIS 'BEFORE' buying anything, you can save yourself alot of frustration and money,in fact you will feel empowered that you were smart enough NOT TO BE TAKEN FOR A RIDE!!!

#2 Consumer Comment

Read the terms and conditions

AUTHOR: Wanda - (U.S.A.)

I have been looking for a cell phone plan, I 'just' looked at Liberty wireless and their offers. I decided to further research the company for complaints before deciding to buy from them.

Liberty offers phones with their service plan for wireless calling, with these plans the phones have rebates-making the phone free. If you look at the terms and conditions' of Liberty Wireless offer, scroll down to REBATES it clearly says "REBATES WILL BE PAID AFTER 120 DAYS OF 'CONTINUOUS' SERVICE THEN ALLOW AN ADDITIONAL 30-90 DAYS FOR PROCESSING OF REBATE". This statement deterred me from going with the more expensive phones.

Think of the rebate incentive this way- Since there is NO CONTRACT-NO CANCELATION FEE-NO CREDIT CHECK, I think the REBATE is a contract in a sense. It is INCENTIVE for one to stay with the service six months or more, if one does we will 'give' you the phone free....personally I think that is a fair trade off, after all they are in the business to make money.

Lastly, how many people would buy a phone, sign up for service, wait for the rebates (most rebate offers 1-3 month turn around time) then cancel the service. Now you have the phone and the cash. How would this company make money if they JUST GAVE FREE PHONES AWAY FOR NOTHING IN RETURN?

I am a new law student (old women though=) and have learned by law all terms and conditions must be on the sellers site, however WHERE they put it is up to the seller. Everyone has heard the saying 'read the small print' YOU MUST AS A CONSUMER always read the small print' this is where you will get the REAL DEAL spelled out in great detail. Cliche' but KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. Lastly, if something seems to good to be true it usually is!
