What an ordeal! I found a great all in one phone service that included all long distance and local service and all the options for only a few dollars that Lightning Communications could NOT match. SO I timed the switch to occur prior to the next bill due for Lightning which was the 13th of Feb. All went great UNTIL I got a notice from the new company that Lightning Communications had a block on my service where it could not be switched.

WHAT?? NO one I know who uses other companies had that problem. So here it is the 12th, my bill is due on the 13th. So I called then and explained the situation. They agreed to remove the block (it actually took 5 days) BUT I was told that I had to PAY THE FULL AMOUNT even though I would not need their serviced any longer than a few days, due to their blocking. What now? I did not put that block on it and was unaware of it, nothing I had mentioned that they would put a block on my service to prevent changing. They told me that "it was for my protection".

I asked if I could pay a partial payment was told right off the bat NO. Full or nothing and lose my number. That was not right and I argured about it and then was told by Debbie (who now says she did not tell me that) that I HAD to go and pay the full 60.00, have the dealer that took the payment to call and confirm that I had paid it. That in itself was a 35 minute drive from my home.

Then call them back after it is switched for a PARTIAL refund. Ok, that is fair, or so I thought. It should not take but a few days to switch and I would only have "their" service for then so I would expect to get more than half back. I called back on the 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, March 3rd and 4th. My service was switched on the 17th. It took 5 days for that to happen (wonder then the remove block was actually ordered??, smells fishy here for sure!) It was "not in their system" I know or so they said then I called March 4th so I figured that I would give them over another month to "get it in their system".

I called back a few days ago and talking about the runaround. No one remembers me, Debbie now swears that she said I should call prior to going and could pay a partial payment. ??? I would had LOVED to had done that IF I WAS EVER TOLD SUCH A THING!! So many times I have called "Debbie or Connie was gone, in a meeting," so on and so one. I am so tired of the lies.

They said now that "in my contract it says no refunds". I never got a contract first of all. I got with this at a gas station dealer in Monroe, that no longer takes their payments. All I ever got wa a copy of the fax where they sent the first payment. Period. NO contract on my part. I have that fax copy also.

I just want my partial refund. I paid 60.00 for 4 days service that should NOT had to been paid, especially since they had a block on my service. Am I being unreasonable? I do not think so. I am livid and totally disgusted at those people. I warn anyone that wants to do a prepaid thru them to really think it thru. We got a new service that is NOT prepaid, and is wonderful.

IF someone HAS to go prepaid in Louisiana, I would recommend Budget Phone over them anyday. AND I will NOT let this matter drop. It is the principle now, and I expect people to honor their word. If you can't, you will pay the price of lost revenue.

You are not the only service on the block and I have a huge, big mouth that reaches to all corners of the state. I use the internet a lot and word will spread. Where there is a message board, I will be there, where there is any place for consumer complaints, I will be there. I will only stop when their word is kept and I get that partial refund in the mail. Until then, enjoy your jobs while you still have them. You Know who I am, don't you! All Over, Louisiana U.S.A.
