I thought I would be helping older people so they would not be a burden on their loved ones for their final expenses...what a rip off!

I was informed that the leads that I was purchasing (at $36.00 a lead) were brand new leads...WRONG they had been recycled again and again.

Thankfully I stopped getting the leads while I was only $470. in debt. What I didn't realize was if you receive commissions from the sale of their products and then leave the company before you are vested (after two years); then you have to pay all the monies received back to the company. The business I wrote is still on the books, but they want ALL the money back.

The upshot of this scam is that they claim I owe them $559.10; I am considering letting them send me to collections rather than succumb to their scam. I consider myself very fortunate, since there are other agents that are so far in debt to them that they can't afford to leave. It is like they are enslaved to this insensitive company that preys on agents and old people equally. For the agents, they can quickly pass the point of no return.

So if you are considering selling final expense plans to help the elderly, do yourself a favor and chose a different company. Lincoln Heritage won't let you come on board unless you sign up for their lead program...I wonder why!! It is a cash cow for them, especially if they can really get their hooks into you.

Rebuttal of Lincoln Heritage complaint

AUTHOR: gary penn - (United States of America)

Most new agents dont realize that if they sell a policy, Lincoln just like most other companies will advance you 70% ot the total annual premium. That is 9 months of premiums that the company has not gotten yet. You as the agent have not earned the commission yet because the company hasn't recieved it yet. They have been good enough to you to give you most of the commission up front. if you sell 10 policies and are advanced $2,500 or $250 each. If 3 of them cancel then you will owe back $750. It doesn't matter if all of the other 7 continue to pay you will still owe for the advanced commission or the 3 that cancel. It sounds like Lincoln is the one that dodged the bullet. Please dont complain because something doesn't look good. If you will learn the facts first. Gossip when not true can hurt everyone. I happen to know first hand that you probablu could have stayed and worked for a few years and more than likely earned a better than average income. I have and cant find anything to complain about. Lincoln has been great to deal with from leads to management to home office people.

lincoln heritage rip off

AUTHOR: BJ - (United States of America)

I also am a former LH agent....Thank God I dodged a bullet but unfortunately I fell for the scam for a bit..and when I left the comapny I also was sent a debit for advanced commissions even though the majority are still on the books...I guess if you no longer buy their leads they find other ways to charge you..750 was charged against me yet I have personally spoke w a few of my so called lapsed policies and they still pay their monthly fees for their policies.  If I owe something I do expect to pay it, but based off of what they are stating and looking at the numbers...Lets just say it does not add up.  Many other former agents here in fell for same scam.  Soon enough their rating will drop based off of the unethical way they treat former agents

rebuttal of Lincoln Heritage Complaint

Lincoln does not require you to ever buy leads. In fact the founder calls many of the agent teaching  them how to work without leads. If you bought leads and didnt work them its no fault of Lincoln's. If you bought 15 leads, or I should say ran up a lead debt and didnt pay for it, you should have sold at least $2,000 in business.  If you are going to put out information you need to tell the whole stoty of why you didnt sell. I have found that most of the time new agents think the leads will sell them selves. You do need to learn how to sell not just buy a lead.

rebuttal of Lincoln Heritage Complaint

AUTHOR: gary penn - (United States of America)

I have been an agent with Lincoln Heritage since september of 2010. I  have earned more income than with any other insurance company Ive every worked. Never has one lead ever been re sold. I now have some other agents working for me and as a manger it is imposiible for any manager to even assign the lead more than once. The only possible way a lead / customer could get in the hands of another agent is if they sent another lead card in or call on a TV lead more than one time. Lincoln's safeguard for duplicate leads is that they will never mail a particular zip code more often than every 2 months. If you call the lead department at Lincoln They will research every lead name and if it was sold more than once threw a computer glitch of some kind,  I am sure they will credit them. I buy 15 to 20 leads a week and sell 10 to 15 policies a week. Ive worked other lead final expense programs and nothing compares to Lincoln's. This company has been a God send for my family. My income has quadruples since working for them. If I had started with them just 5 years I would almost be retired by now. It sounds like possibly a manager didnt get you the help you needed to get started. If I can help let me know some how.
