Then after three months I finally got a local management group's attention and they took me under their wing. I found out that they had a thriving group. I got a manager locally and never talked to my out-of state manager again. I got a letter from Lincoln saying my production was poor and that I was on a 30-day termination. I went out with my new manager who informed me that the local office was aware of my 30-day notice. My manager went out with me with those leads and went over them with me. I told my manager what responses I got with each one. I was told to leave the leads alone and to give them a rest. I was told to start out fresh and go door to door. I went out at night and knocked on a few doors, handed out business cards and shook a few hands. I immediately got appointments and made some sales using red and white mailers from my manager. I did well. I sold fifteen policies. I got my own red and white mailers and started using them. I took a month off. I did manage to make a sale in the middle of the month.
Then a week later Lincoln sent me another letter saying they were going to terminate me. The next day I called the marketing firm and told them I was doing well and that I never needed those leads. They said they had to return them and recirculate them. They said that's how my balance went down. I made four sales in less than 24 hours. The sales were to a woman and her three children. I signed up a woman with a grown son and her grandson. The local managing firm wanted to talk to me about it. They claim they frown on sales to people under forty. They said they had to meet with me about some things. They gave me two times, both were during the day and I said I couldn't make it. I told them to go ahead and honor the termination. I got an e-mail saying they were going to recharge me for $300.00 worth of leads and that I owed them. They said the commissions I received, which totaled about $800.00 were loans. They said after the $300.00 is paid through the monthly sales that I would start getting money for the fifteen sales, but the local director kept all of the money. I left the company with 15 active-paying accounts. They keep the money.
So for anyone that thinks they are making sales commissions, you are not. They are only loans. If you think I'm wrong call Lincoln Heritage. I know some people are too far in to get out now. They're buried. But for those thinking about their lead program and selling for them, forget it. I came to them making $50,000.00 per year. I was told you could make a $100,000.00. You probably can, and make their marketing firm even richer. I never needed those leads anyway. Real salesmen don't need them. They generate their own. If you don't believe me ask their founder.
