I MADE A VERY COSTLY MISTAKE IN SIGNING UP FOR LINGO PHONE SERVICE SOMETIME IN AUGUST 2009. AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF POOR SERVICES, AND AN EVEN MORE APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE, I DECIDED I HAD HAD ENOUGH. I WENT ONLINE TO CANCEL MY SERVICE BUT WAS TOLD TO CALL THEIR 800 NUMBER. I CALLED THE NUMBER ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND ONCE I SELECTED THE OPTION OF CANCELLING SERVICE, I WAS KEPT WAITING FOR 20 MINUTES AND THE CALL WAS TERMINATED ABRUPTLY WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SPEAK WITH ANYBODY. I THEN SENT THEM AN EMAIL; AND THEY REPLIED THAT I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE ACTUAL DATE WHEN I WOULD END MY SERVICE WITH THEM. WHEN THE DAY CAME, I SEND ANOTHER EMAIL AND THEY SENT AN EMAIL TELLING ME THAT I SHOULD CALL THEM. MEANWHILE, I TRIED TO CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD INFO WHEICH THEY HAD ONLINE BUT THEY MADE THAT IMPOSSIBLE. WHEN I SAW THE W2AY THEY WERE GOING, I HAD NO CHOICE THAN TO CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD WITH THE CREDIT COMPANY AND GOT ANOTHER ONE. NOT SURPRISINGLY, THE CROOKS AT LINGO STILL TRIED TO COLLECT THEIR MONEY FROM THE OLD CREDIT CARD BUT LO AND BEHOLD, I HAD CANCELLED!!! LINGO FOLKS ARE NOTHING SHORT OF CROOKS. THEIR SERVICES SUCK AND WHEN YOU WANT TO TALK TO SOMEONE, YOU'D BE UNABLE TO REACH ANYONE. STAY AWAY FROMS THEM, AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!
