I signed on for assistance from Freedom Legal after requesting a HAMP modification for over 30 months, as a single mother of 2 children in a single fam home with an upside down mortgage, significant decrease in compensation, along with being sold a third mortgage company, Ocwen, that changed details of my loan without my permission/signature/acknowledgement, this law firm affirmed it could not only help, but could most likely negotiate down my principal, and I'd see a significant decrease in my interest rate.
Heard nothing from them during May 2011, through almost November 2011, UNLESS I initiated calls; each time I contacted them, I was informed I'd been assigned a different account representative. I was assured a forensic audit would be performed, and my bank would have to prove they had all documentation dating back to two other banks' worth of activity, and if they did not produce, the legal network/law firm would be in a position to use the document deficit as leverage against the bank, and I'd surely see a reduction in my monthly payment. Litvin Torrens' paralegal (I don't think she is one), Admin, and receptionist, are the sole people in that office, as I have gotten pretty firm with them and they have had to patch in someone from their NY office each time, though each person called in to a call is different than the last, and don't speak clear english (odd for attorneys who are supposedly admitted in NY).
The best Litvin Torrens has provided is probably a biweekly call with my mortgage company, during the course of two months, February and March of 2012, and ONLY after I was well documented, and extremely difficult, though my fees paid are in excess of $9,000.00. To date, Jul 30, 2012, I have received a new loan amount, an additional $30,000 in deferred principal, NO response from Litvin, Frontier Legal, Freedom Legal, though I requested interface over the last two weeks, and I am out all the legal fees, for few, and certainly non licensed professional services rendered.
