I had made arrangements with Long Island Airport and Bus Service, also locally known by the acronym "LIALS", to pick up both my wife and myself at our home address in Merrick N.Y. and transport us to Laguardia Airport in Queens New York on a start of a vacation we were taking.

At the time I made the reservation they made an offer that if I paid $62.00 for a round trip than the fare would be $31.00 each way instead of the $42.00 for just a one way trip. I agreed and when their limousine arrived to pick us up on August 11th 2000,

I paid the driver for the round trip fare and he checked with the dispatcher via their radio system and confirmed that they had our flight schedule and times for our return on August 28th, 2000.

I was given two phone numbers in which to call them and a location at Laguardia airport where we would meet the limo when they came to pick us up. When we returned on August 28th 2000 at about 11:45 p.m. from our flight, we tried to contact LIALS to pick us up but got no answer from either of the phone numbers and there was no limo waiting for us at the designated meeting spot.

After about an hour and a half of waiting we ended up taking a gypsy limousine home or we would have been stranded at the airport for the entire night. The fare was $75.00 for the limo to take us home.

I contacted LIALS the following day and they said they would send me a refund for half of the trip and they gave what amounted to flimsy excuses as to why no one had showed up for us.

Well now it is the end of November and we still have not gotten back our $31.00 refund. This is after repeated phone calls on my part to them and also having sent them a letter. I keep getting the runaround and other types of excuses such as their bookkeeper isn't in today and when they say they will call back, they never do.

It seems that the people that work there have no consideration for the customers that do business with them and often are rude. I now know they have no intention of giving back the refund due me. I will never use this limousine company again nor recommend them to anyone else.
