Low Price Digital, Shopping.com, EBay Online Fraudulent Representations Brisbane California
*UPDATE Employee: LowPriceDigital.com is in now way associated with eBay or Shopping.com
LowPriceDigital.com is a Shopping.com company which are owned by eBay. They appear to be a consumer friendly site to compare prices for the consummer and provide a customer based rating of the company they are reviewing for you.
Here is an example of how the scam works. You go to search for an electronics product. In this case we will search for the new "Garmin Nuvi 760" GPS device. One of the Adword listings will appear for LowPriceDigital.com with an attractive price ov $50 below all other dealers.
The top two listings: 86th Street Photo and Broadway Photo (actually the same company) will show up with incredible prices and a 5 Star "Store Rating". If you visit the 86th Street Photo site to read more;
Here you will also find a 5 Star Store Rating (by Low Price Digital) that has 2120 glowing reviews, presumably by customers who have all had a great experience with 86th Street Photo (or Broadway Photo or any of their 10 other aliases). Sounds great so with the endorsement of this eBay owned company you proceed to do business. However if you Google the "86th Street Photo" business the second listing you find is by ResellerRatings.com
There customer ratings tell a very different story than the eBay owned LowPriceDigital.com. This consumer review site give 86th Street Photo a rating of 0.28 out of 10. This is an incredible conflict with the 5 Star perfect customer service rating given by the eBay owned company Low Price Digital (a Shopping.com company).
Clearly this is a manipulated result to favor their "Featured Merchant" with a 5 Star "Certified Merchant" status.
The eBay company LowPriceDigital.com clearly is providing a name for what is clearly a bait and switch high presure sales group selling add on accessories at super inflated prices and dropping non-cooperative customers (read the Reseller Ratings reviews).
A company like eBay that has built their business on trusted auction relationships, trusted payment methods (PayPal) should not be deceiving consumers with manipulated results to favor "Certified Merchants", which in this case simply means they are spending huge amounts of money to buy certification from this eBay company.
I am confident this is a renagade practice by employees of an eBay owned company and that if this was brought to the attention of eBay executives they would stop this deceitful practice of selling 5 Star Ratings that are not earned and certified by consumers (not an account representative on the take).
E-commerce will not raise above it's lowest common denominator which is, unfortunately, in this case a eBay owned fraudster called LowPriceDigital.com.
