Lowes does not stand behind there lawn mowers had a lawn mower for two months than it would not run anymore so i sent it to an authorized lowes service center to be fixed only to have to pay out of pocket to have it fixed because lowes does not cover a faulty choke stuck on and neither did honda

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Lowes Extended Service irrelevant

AUTHOR: IntheKnow - (USA)

Your mower has a TWO YEAR manufacturer warranty.  Unless you abused it or were negligent in its use or unless the parts wer considered routine maintenance items, your mower should have been covered.  Check your mfr warranty "exclusions."  If "faulty choke" is not there, you have a good case against the mfr.  First I would escalate this to a supervisory level with the mfr.  If that doesn't work, go to your local Better Business Bureau.  If that doesn't work, your state's Dept or Consumer Affairs would love this one.

Lowes extended service would have done ZERO for you.  The mfr is responsible in years 1 & 2.

Extended Protection Plan

AUTHOR: Mrawesomo - (United States of America)

Did you purchase the extended protection plan?

Also if it's within the manufacturer warranty (which is about 90 days-1 year for most,) you should contact the manufacturer FIRST. If it's outside the manufacturer warranty and you did NOT purchase the extended protection plan from Lowe's, then you're going to have to pay out of your own pocket.

Moral of the story: contact the the manufacturer FIRST if you're within their warranty (look in your manual for length of warranty) AND/OR buy an extended protection plan from Lowe's; I'd highly suggest it on any of the lawn mowers/etc (if you bought the plan, then your lawn mower's trip to the authorized service center would've been free of charge.)

The associate helping you should've mentioned the plan when you bought the mower.
