Having an accident is bad enough. Having your right ignored makes it worse. If you have a car accident in Aston Township, unlike anywhere else in the state of Pennsylvania that I have encountered, your vehicle Will be towed by Luongo's Towing of Media. You will not have the choice or an option to have your own towing company come for your car including roadside assistance or the dealership. You will be forced to use Luongo's and they will arrive immediately.

The police officer on scene Will discourage or completely ignore your request for alternate assistance. He/she will site a number of safety issues as to why your vehicle needs to be towed immediately by Luongos who no doubt will already be at the scene.

Once your vehicle is on their tow truck, you will not have the right to have your vehicle towed to a repair shop, Storage facility, or dealership of your choosing. Effectively, they are not a towing service, they are a "tow to Luongo's" service. This allows them to rack up large towing fees, Storage fees and administrative fees knowing that the insurance company will add all towing fees to the accident claim.

Additionally, they will only release the vehicle to the registered owner of the vehicle who is likely too injured to go clean the vehicle at the Police Department. They will not allow a family member, A mother, a father, A husband or wife to claim the vehicle. So if the driver/owner is in the hospital or otherwise incapacitated as a result of the accident, the vehicle will remain in storage for the duration of their recovery allowing for gross overnight storage fees to accumulate.

Luongo's Towing Will tell you that the Aston Police contract mandates all vehicles towed be taken to a Luongos operated lot ignoring your right to have your vehicle towed to any repair shop of your choosing. (assuming the vehicle was not part of a crime scene, confiscated as evidence, or part of an ongoing police investigation)

Your dealership, your insurance company, nor your body shop Will be permitted to release your vehicle in your stead.

Luongos Towing is in contract with Aston Township/Aston Township Police Department to provide the service that is very much needed after an accident. However certain unknown circumstances have allowed this contract to put the rights and the benefits of the people aside... It has created a captive profit cycle for Luongos. Creating more difficulties and anxiety for the accident victims at a time when they need assistance and compassion at a fair price.

I don't know why Aston Township and Aston Township police continue to allow this in their township... I don't know why a Township contractor has been granted the ability to overide the rights of taxpayers forcing a particular service on them when the car is not being detained...  BUT WE ARE GOING TO FIND OUT!

Shame on you, STEVE LUONGO. Shame on you.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Complaint has no merit

AUTHOR: Luongo's - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 04, 2014

The claims being made about our company are incorrect and just plain ridiculous.  At no time did the owner/operator of the vehicle ask our driver to deliver her car anywhere other than Luongo’s.  The only interaction was when our driver returned to her the miscellaneous keys on her key ring, only keeping the car keys, to which she replied “thank you, have a nice day”.  Our towing company has towed many vehicles to secondary locations at the owner’s request and will continue to do so.  The complaint stated how quickly we arrived at the scene and got the car loaded onto our tow truck.  That is how emergency towing operations work.  A police officer’s duty is to get the roadway clear and not cause traffic jams, that is why they are authorized by section 3352 subsections B & C of the PA motor vehicle code which gives them permission to remove a vehicle with or without the vehicle owner’s permission.  You will have the option to have your car towed by an independent company, if the company can do so in a timely manner.  Roadside assistance is not considered timely by police officers and ironically your dealership has Luongo’s doing their towing due to our fast and quality service.  Now for the accusation that we will only release to the registered owner, that is also false.  Since a car is usually a person’s second largest investment Luongo’s does in fact require that the vehicle owner and or family member (in serious accidents) obtain a police release and verbally direct Luongo’s to whom may be permitted to retrieve this vehicle whether it be a family member, dealership, insurance company or auto body shop.  The release of vehicles Luongo’s follows the rules and regulations that are set forth by Aston Police Department relating to towed vehicles and their releases.  This complaint also made allegations that our prices are excessive but insurance companies tell us that we are priced lower than our competitors.  Our company follows all the requirements for each police department that we tow for; we accommodate everyone as much as possible.  Aston Police Department mandates where the vehicles are towed not Luongo’s for their police ordered tows.  Luongo’s treats everyone fairly and respectfully and follows the rules and laws of Pennsylvania.  If a vehicle owner attempts to buck the legal system Luongo’s will continue to do the proper and right thing.  This is why many police, dealerships, body shops and insurance companies contract Luongo’s because we provide excellent service; quick response times and follow the rules fairly and evenly.
