I paid off a negative balance today and put extra money in my checking account, before leaving my north Maryland home for Jacksonville, FL for a new trucking job. Was assured by the Wormans Mill, Frederick MD, branch that the funds were available immediately. Also had been told by Eric at the 800 collections number, that once the negative ($20) was paid, the account would be open, and funds would be available immediately. Here I am on a layover in Maryland waiting for a family member to Western Union me $20, just so I have some money to travel with. Jessica and Cindy both at the above listed 800 number very rudely told me there was nothing they would do, that this was in collections, and would remain there until Wednesday, when I leave Florida. It is Saturday. This was not a check deposit, it was CASH. There is no reason to hold a deposit, and there is NO REASON for any "customer service" (term used very loosely) rep to interrupt or be rudely voiced with ANY customer over the phone, or in person for that matter. They lied about the availability, and have 0 customer relations skills. Oh, and I didn't mention, the iPhone app shows the funds available.
