MBNA America dramatic credit rate increase Wilmington Delaware

MBNA raised my interest rate on my Visa credit card from 9.9% to 19.99% - even though I had never been late on a payment, made payments much greater than my minimum required. I was such a good customer with MBNA, that, over time, they increased my credit limit to over $14,000!!

Then, when my debt got near my credit limit - WHAM! they increased my rate which increases my monthly minimum due by over $100. They will not negotiate a better rate as they told me that between me and my husband, we had too much credit card debt.

What they neglect to understand here is that my husband is a painting contractor. He gets paid based upon construction "draws" and he usually gets a draw once a month. He's working with a new contractor and hasn't been paid yet. Once paid, his draw should be around $20,000. Until we receive this draw, we are a little strapped for cash and therefore have been depending on our credit cards a little bit more.

As soon as he receives the draw, I will pay MBNA in full and NEVER NEVER have anything to do with them again!
