My nightmare started on June 26th when I made the installation payment to MDU Communications, a third party company that works for DirecTV in installing their services around Kansas City.
My first contact with customer service was easy, fast and the payment was made. My installation was scheduled for Friday, July 6th. I took my day off from work to wait for the technician, supposed to arrive between 1-6 pm to do the job. Unfortunately, at 11am I received a call from their customer service rep saying that the dispatch team had an emergency and an installation would not happen that day. Unfortunately they could give me a day when I would get my service activated.
After several days and almost 11 hours spent on the phone with MDU, i received promises from several agents, and even a supervisor called Dylan that I would get my service as soon as possible and was guaranteed that the matter was escalated to their supervisors. Dylan, the supervisor, promised to call me with more information on Monday the 17th, which I am still waiting to hear from.
I finally got a technician to come out and do the job on the 21st of July, between 9am - 1pm. The technician arrived at 3:00 pm at my house and for my surprise he could not do the job because the dishes on roof had been removed. Apparently MDU neither the apartment complex had no information on how their asset, in this case, the dishes, were removed from their building.
As you can expect, i am currently without my service and as their supervisor told me, no ETA of an installation at this moment. Do yourself a favor, if your apartment complex ever requires you to sign such service, RUN AWAY!!
