You asked about when we have ever seen a major bank reported as defrauding customers? How about Nextbank several top management charged with fraud and sec charges, and defrauding customers.
Guess who bought the fraudulent debts? Yes Merrick Bank, so by association they are now holding fraudulent accounts and trying to collect on them. I they do try and collect on an account that has incorrect or fraudulent charges, and they "Know" this they are perpetrating a fraud themselves.

There is no way a major company like Merrick Bank could open an account under your name. 90 percent of the time if you have a "care" giver who takes care of your home, finances, or whatever it may be, will be the person stealing your identity. Please, if you are going to bash on a company, think before you speak.

No credit card company is going to open a credit card in your name without your authorization. Call the customer service number and select fraud as an option. The company will be able to pull your application and if you signed for it, then they did nothing wrong. As a matter of fact, most instances like this occur because the caregiver is the one who is actually defrauding the person, not the company!!!!

merrik is a nasty god forsken company and yes they would open the account without his concent read some of the other past statement's that people made they still owe me for a over payment that i made to them along time ago i still get leter's from them every month afater i have closed the account. they have owed me 109.00 sece the middle of this year every month i get a statment with the amount paid over with a envelope for a payment inclosed there a part of a big picture that is destroying our country and this poor guy is seting in a hospital and could be dead for all you care America is desenthasised and amock he could be liying in the street with blood all over him and people would just shrug there shoulder's and say ahh i seen that last night on tv you and people like you make me sick"! God is comming back soon to straighten this clusterf*ck of a world out and i welcome it open armed' we canot fix this only he can. Merrick bank is a branch of busnesses taken over by other countries that hate us. And i see why where weak and fathless and cold hearted for other's who are struggling like this poor man crying out to a cold system that is failing, thank god for scam buster's maybe they should start looking at some of our law's as a scam and bust them too for leting them buy out america later pice to you's that see what i am saying death with thouse who dissagree'!

I am sorry to hear of your condition and the situation with Merrick. However, I don't think the company just out of the blue would select your name and information and open an account. Seems to me that you may be on a mailing list and were sent one of the "Pre-approved" letters. Someone apparently sent this back to the company or called the company with your info and opened the account. I would look at anyone who had access to my mail and personal information. I hope you can get this resolved.
