Well where to start,  I basically took my 2008 Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart to my mechanic to have a knocking noise looked at (thinking the valves needed to be adjusted), seeing how this car has variable valve timing and the manual says to have it adjusted every 30,000 miles.  My mechanic says that the valves were in perfect tolerance and that the engine itself looks like it has been very well taking care of inside and out.

The book also states to change the oil every 7500 mile, and to rotate the tire every 15000 miles.  I am very meticulous at keeping all the service done on my car.  I changed the oil between 3500 and 5000 miles along with the filter, and have also had some oil changes done with my mechanic because the dealership is over an hour away and it is not feasible for me to drive there for just an oil change.

Now we get to the fun part.  I get the car to the dealership, and they say that they need to tear the motor down and that I have to O.K. it because if the motor is not covered  I am responsible  for the charges.  After tearing the motor down the dealership calls me back and says it was a part failure, and that it looks like it will be covered (so I am thinking great, new car should be covered) but after 2 hrs, the dealership calls me back and say that the manufacturer will not cover the engine now, that it is my fault that it broke down.  But hold on it gets better, first they tole me that the engine wasn't getting proper lubrication to the pistons, but they thoroughly looked over the internal and could not come to that conclusion, so they then tried to tell me that the oil was breaking down prematurely, but had the oil sent out for testing, and they lost on that deal as well, so now they are trying to claim lack of maintenance, even though I have provided all the receipts from before the problem up until the car went to the garage,   I wasn't able to get all the copies of receipts, because I moved and misplaced some of them, but had more then half of them to show a history of maintenance.  So her I sit with a brand new car that I haven't been able to drive because Mitsubishi refuses to cover their great warranty.

My thoughts are if you are thinking of buying a car made by this company, look elsewhere, they will try to find any way they can to not cover your car.  Also look into class action suits against them if you own one, I am considering of starting one myself, so that no one else gets screwed from their awesome (and I use that word loosely) warranty.
