MMA U is by far the biggest group of wannabe fighters, trainers, or whatever else they claim to be.  I have never seen so much mismanagement, bad training programs, and just plain overall stupidity in one place at the same time.  The owner Tim Blanchard sat me down to tell me how he and his trainer Louie could help me achieve my goals with their expert knowledge.  Little did I know that they have no knowledge to speak of.  A couple of weekend certifications that my Grandma could get by paying the $50, is the extent of their so called knowledge.  Their training was the equiivalent of watching paint dry when it came to intensity, not to mention that they were checking their cellphones every 2 seconds while they TRIED to train me.

All I got out of going to this gym was the realization that if a gym has to have an online deal every 3 weeks on Living Social, Group On or any of the other companies like this that they are not that good.  When I looked up their fighting records that they constantly bragged about I also saw that they were complete liars about themselves on this front too!

Trust me folks, do not go to this place. There seems to be 3-5 people getting injured every week and it is completely these guys fault.  My back and knees have never felt so much pain before, but since I did the same workout every 2 days with them I guess I should have realized that they sucked.  Lesson Learned!

Hello,

Let me begin by saying I had read this report before going there but as this is the only negative review I could find I decided to go and attend anyways. I have long suffered from knee issues and was hesitant about doing something that would negatively effect me. I talked with Tim one on one about my concerns and he made me feel much better. I addressed my injuries prior to my training with them. It doesn't sound like you did. I had no issues with that, in fact my knees feel better than before I began training. Also I was very impressed with how modest and supportive the fighters are despite the fact, I am not a fighter. The atmosphere and family support you receive there is unlike anything I have ever seen.

The fact that he advertises with groupons and that somehow negates the professionalism of the gym is asinine. I was turned on to the club via a group on and am now a full fledged member. For many, including myself it provides a perfect sample to what can be an intimidating experience. I had tried multiple other gyms which do not use modern marketing and have never gone back. The amount of spam I receive from them is much more annoying than a group on email.

All in all I can honestly said nothing about this original post seems to hold up or be valid any longer.
