Macy's sold us a travertine coffee table that was $500. We picked it up at the warehouse and found when we got home that the wrong screws were enclosed. We requested that they ship the screws to us, but they said that a technician would call us back in a week to make an appointment with us. We didn't need an appointment or a technician, we just wanted the screws. Apparently, it takes 4-6 weeks for them to ship screws out, and in the meantime, the unassembled table is in my family room taking up space.

We decided we didn't want the table any more, and now they are giving us a hard time about picking it up. We keep requesting a late pickup, but they schedule a mid-day pickup and we refuse to take work off for them after the huge inconvenience and frustration we have already been through. We purchased the table on May 4, and to date, they have not picked it up. Next scheduled date is for May 30, but customer service won't guarantee us a late pickup. This is the least they could do under the circumstances.

No one in customer service will assist. I made a report on their website ("tell us how we are doing"), and I got an automated reply. Apparently, no one in customer service cares about the shoddy furniture they sell or the poor attention to customer complaints.

I'll never buy furniture there again.

You start out telling us youy picked up the table:
"Macy's sold us a travertine coffee table that was $500. We picked it up at the warehouse and found when we got home that the wrong screws were enclosed."

Why don't you request a Return Authorization Number & then return the table to the warehouse?

Another approach was to go to a hardware store & get appropriate screws.

Either solution is preferable to developing an ulcer......
