I purchased the Magic Bullet from a TV ad. They took the funds from my checking acct. almost immediately, soon after I got the pkg. After testing the product I found it to perform badly and not even close to what was advertised, tho

it did look nice. I called to proceed with the return and they explained how to do it. Fine. I sent it back and even had to pay another ten dollars to do that. Then they did not return my money to my account when they received the pkg and not only that but took out the second payment after they told me they would not. I had to call them and really be 'assertive.' They then sent me an e mail saying that the money had been credited to my account on the 18th of Nov and that was not true. I checked twice a day. I am not saying that the product might not be right for all. But, the thing leaks...it says to exert counterclockwise pressure so the bullet does not become caught under the lip. When you exert this pressure, it comes unscrewed. If you were to screw it on tighly enough to counter act this, I would never be able to get the lid OFF!

Lip guards leak, and if you were to use them as directed at a bullet bash, there would be spilt drinks all over.
I tried chopping. Ha! This little brat pulverizes everything it sees. There is no tap thing going on.It will not perform as it is advertised! Be my guest and try it! You, too, will be mad and disgusted with the clean up and ticked off at the 40 plus 10 dollars on wasted postage. If you have tried it, please post a rebuttal if you liked it. And also please please post a report if you agree with mine. I hate to see good folks waste their money!!!

Biting the bullet on shipping

AUTHOR: Mj - (U.S.A.)

In response to the 1st blog here. I also purchased the bullet from TV. I agree that the shipping is outrageous. I understood what I was paying for shipping, I figured it would be sent and recvd in a couple days. For $40 I was assuming it would be delivered in a timely manor to make up for the $40 price tag on their shipping, and for the weight of the product it should cost no more than $13. So where is the additional $27 going? It wasn't going to ship the product out in a timely manor. On a positive, they did send a tracking e-mail to follow this and the prodcut took almost a week for it to leave their warehouse. When I tried to contact their customer service they advised me it would be over 3 days to hear anything back and I quote per their e-mail "I should not to reply to their e-mail b/c it would go unread and unaddressed." The product is a good product and I have no problems w/ the bullet itself. I do agree w/ the rebuttles on here. But dealing w/ their customer service, their shipping, and how they handle their customers after the sale are horrible. In my personal deallings w/ them, once they got my $, addressing any concerns or questions I had regarding the shipping, or their product was last on their agenda. My questions or concerns were pushed aside and pushy sale tactics such as extended warrenties and additional parts are thrown at me. You would think they would want to build on their relationships w/ their customers after the sale to help w/ customer satisfaction and to help w/ the best form of advertising which is word of mouth. I feel I have been treated as they got my $ and do not want anything to do w/ me as a customer after I have made my purchase. I know similar products I have purchased can do the same job for 1/2 the cost and 5x's the customer service. Postive buisness/customer contact is a big thing I look at when I choose to spend my $ w/ a company. This has not been the case here. As discussed in the rebuttles if you had to buy the product, i would also suggest going through WallGreens as well to prevent the unprofessional treatment or untimely manor in which they get back to you regarding your concerns.

Rebuttal as requested

AUTHOR: Tracy - (U.S.A.)

My mom bought me the Magic Bullet as a wedding present this past August. I love it. I do have to agree about the tapping thing though. I don't use it for that purpose for the most part. I chop my iguana's food in it (except for the dark leafy greens she eats). I make milkshakes in it. I make frozen margaritas in it. I made stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer for Thanksgiving and was able to chop all my ingredients in it. I actually brought to my friend's house and made a variety of mixed drinks at the party. I found it was wonderful to be able to mix a strawberry daquiri, a frozen margarita and a mudslide, all without having to wash a single thing! We didn't have any leaks on my machine or the cups or anything like that.

My mom didn't buy it from the infomercial either. To tell the truth I'm not sure where she bought it from, but I know it wasn't the infomercial.

Good luck with your situation.

Magic Bullet Response

AUTHOR: Charlie - (U.S.A.)

As requested by the original poster, here is my rebuttal. I have the Magic Bullet and I am satisfied with it. However, I did NOT purchase mine off of TV, it was too expensive. I also saw how much they were charging for shipping, and it seemed odd to me that they could even be allowed to inflate the shipping cost so horrendously. So I knew if I wanted it, there had to be another way. So, I found out that it was available at Walgreens (which are on every street corner it seems), and also available on Walgreens' website. I purchased mine off of their website in February 2005, and it was only $60 plus tax with free shipping since the order was more than $50. And just so there's no confusion for readers and future posters, the one I purchased did NOT come with the juicer and blender that you get with a TV order, but I did not need or want those particular items anyway.

Once it arrived, I started using it quite a bit. I agree that the tap function does not work quite like one would think it ought to, but it really is a minor thing that can be worked around; you just have to be more careful with it than you would like. But other than that, I have no complaints.

My thoughts on the problems the original poster had are as follows:

1. Perhaps your lip guards were damaged in the shipping process, so as to crack and thus leave a place for liquids to get through.

2. When exerting counterclockwise pressure, VERY little is needed. You should not twist it in the counterclockwise direction (I'm not saying that that was your problem, but it is a possibility), but rather push straight down and just use enough pressure to keep the tab from sliding itself under the lip.

So, that's my experience with the Magic Bullet. I really like it. I find it quite useful, so I would recommend it to people, but as in S.I.'s experience, ordering off of TV is probably not the best way to go. And if you order from Walgreens, they have a good return policy and they're all over the place, so you can easily find one and take it back if needed.

Hope this helps!
