I got the 2013-2014 Magic Jack Plus. It worked at first, then I noticed problems. Paypal and Ebay transactions became excruciatingly slow. When I went to use an FTP program to upload files, it was corrupted. My website got hacked, and I had a lot of other problems so I contacted customer service.
Spoke to 3 people, and they were very rude and uncooperative. First they said it didn't work on my OS, and then they stated they would not accept a return unless I tried it on another computer in our home. The one and only other was a laptop I days earlier had repaired for $200.00, barely worth the cost of a new one. Plus the laptop had Windows 8, and they stated my version would not support Windows 8.
They were rude and adamant that unless I plugged this into another computer that they would not accept a return. When I told them that the Magic Jack states it won't work on Windows 8, they said to try anyways. The fact remains that Cox blocked it and maybe destroyed the Magic Jack.
Maybe they should've? I don't know, I hate the monopoly system of the Internet but Cox is a good company. In any case BOTH companies joined in to hack my computer, and I didn't appreciate it. The magic jack will ruin your FTP, spy on payment transactions, and try to take over the world, plain and simple. Just like everyone else.
Funny how we have so many rulers.
