This guy is a nightmare. He is a compulsive liar and scam artist. I was a member of Main Event Gym approximately 5 years ago and then canceled my membership to follow my long year Friend and trainer to the gym that he was going to be working at. I canceled my membership and left to go to another gym I never heard anything again from Main Event until this guy Lonnie Barclay took over the gym about a year ago, after he took over I got a Letter from First Credit Services saying that I owed money to the gym this is preposterous and this guy should be in prison. I have also hear that First Credit Services is a scam credit agency that is just using that name but is in no way affiliated to the real First Credit Services I called this agency and explained everything to them and they hung up on me. I dont know how Lonnie got my information after me not being there after 5 years but somehow he did. Do not join this gym I repeat do not join this gym. He has other businesses that are scams as well stay away from this guy. I want to start a law suit against this guy and I know some other people that were members of this gym a long time ago and they received the same letters. Lets all get together and do something about this poor excuse of a human being.

I worked at Energy Fitness formaly knows as Bodyplex. I know for a fact the Lonnie does indeed make charges on peoples bank account long after they have left, or cancelled memberships. He is a Crook. He does not pay employees on time, and when paid our checks bounced. He also does not pay overtime and if or when he gets rid of you or you decide to resign he withholds your last paycheck. No one likes him and if you do then you do not know him or are blinded by his fake act. DO NOT work for Lorenzo Barclay. And also do not join any of his gyms and if you do happen to join his gym make certain he does not get ahold of any of your credit card or bank card information. I hope that the former Bodyplex in Dawsonville gets taken over by someone else. Rumor has it the bank is going to forclose on the building soon.This guy is a joke came in with promises of improving the gym and keeping it open and it has gone no where but down hill from losing classes, to charging daycare to closing the pool. He has ruined a nice small town gym that once had 3000 members and is now down to around 1000. He truly is a crook. Beware.

For those of you looking for Lonnie Barclay, he is now running the Energy Fitness AKA Bodyplex of Dawsonville. He took over the gym Feb. 1st of this year. He brought in all new equipment and as of last week cancelled all Les Mills excercise classes and dismissed the teachers. He then started the classes up again without paying the licensing fees and with uncertified teachers He has been visited by the Health Department in regards to the pool, which he has no permit for, as of last week continued the classes in the pool. This is info I have gotten from the front desk staff.

I took a friend of mine for a tour of the gym, she talked to Lonnie who promised her more classes and times...and then cancelled them the next day!! I am a new member and I am stuck for the year (paid in full). I hope it stays open that long!! Many of the members of Bodyplex (before he took over) are now being told that they owe more money for their membership and he is charging $20 a month for babysitting services when they were included in membership. I wonder if he has a permit for the babysitting services? I am truly scared that he is going to take as much $ he can, and close down.
