The turn-over at that San Diego publishing company was like a revolving door, not only in the corporate office, but also the sales reps in the field.

The owner is known for "cleaning house" every couple of years. Maybe he needs a drink :)

I ran into a person about 2 years ago that knew the owner of that publishing company pretty well.  He had started a group called "The 21 Club" (I think that was it), where is was mostly a gathering of guys who had money and were married and the club was for drinking and womanizing. I wish I could remember more details...

Michael Martella and Stuart Robertson are snakes and Marcoa Publishing is the death of a career

Selling Sales Manager

POSTED ON MONSTER AND INDEED

Marcoa Quality Publishing is seeking a selling Sales Manager(NO A PUBLICATION MANAGER, NOT A REAL SALES MANAGER OSITION) for three of its most successful publications the Sun City Palm Desert Directory, Sun City Shadow Hills Directory and the exclusive Rancho Santa Fe Gold Book in the San Diego area. These are proven, revenue producing publications. (NO WAY--- ALL BOOKS HAVE LOST ADVERTISERS AND MONEY FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. TRUE IF GOAL WAS MET WHICH IT WAS NOT)

The successful Sales Manager will have experience in directory advertising sales, 1-2 call close selling environment, team management and building new business.

Weekly overnight travel to the San Diego area for approximately three months while selling the Rancho Santa Fe Goldbook campaign is required.

This is a terrific territory and opportunity for the right individual!(IT IS ONE OF MANY OF THE WORST TERRITORIES IN THE COMPANY)  As an employee position, compensation includes a base salary(ONE OPTION BUT COMPANY PREFERS A COMMISSION ONLY AGREEMENT), strong commissions and bonus(LOW COMMISSION AND BONUS ONLY IF UNATTAINABLE GOAL IS MET), as well as monthly mileage ( ABOUT $12.00 A DAY) and cell phone reimbursement($50 A MONTH) .

BEWARE THE FIRST IMPRESSION IS ONE OF A GREAT OPPORTUNITY WHEN IN FACT IT IS FAR FROM THAT.

The home boys shopping club

AUTHOR: Just bad business - ()

POSTED: Thursday, September 12, 2013

This company seems as it is comprised from a bar-room mentality.  We had intentions of using them for advertising.  They simply could not get a correct proof.  We did not want to proceed further with a company that cannot do what they claim to.

by telling them we did not want to do business with them,  this sparked a barrage of calls from what seemed to be every friend they had.  Each person would state "that we just had to pay". We feel we have stepped into the home boys shopping club.

these people are highly unprofessional and i would not recommend doing business with them.
