Marlo Furniture rip-off! Non-delivery of purchased items. Broken promises! Laurel Maryland

In late June 2004 I ordered a bed for the daughter of a long time friend. This was originally scheduled for delivery on the 18th of July and we were not particularly happy about the wait, but were able to accept the fact that manufacturers sometimes can't keep up. Unfortunately, The bed did not arrive and we were informed that 18 August 2004 would be the new delivery date.

Needless to say, but I will, there was one very disappointed 7 year old girl on the other end of the phone when I called. Alas, Marlo just informed us (14 August) that, not only will the bed not be delivered next week, they don't even know when (and I'm thinking IF) it will be delivered at all! Sadly to say, in this day and age, with computer technology being what it is, one would think that this kind of information might be easy to ascertain.

Thinking that I might be able to determine the name of the manufacturer by using google, searching for Marlo Furniture, where I could maybe see the product online and get the name that way. The first page of results had 5 entries to this website. The Marlo store itself, was not even the first on the list. I believe that this was my last purchase from them.

I thought something was strange when their usually full warehouse section was totally empty as we walked in on the day we looked for this bed. I feel like I'm dealing with the "Enron" of furniture stores here, that they are getting as much money from suckers as they can, right up until time they announce that they are going out of business.
